Lucas carried a faint scent of pine that seemed to heighten his masculinity.

Evelyn frowned as she lowered her gaze to Lucas' hand, which was gripping her wrist. Just as she was about to insist that she could handle it on her own, Lucas noticed her reaction and said, "Focus on the ball, not on me."

Evelyn fell silent. With half of her hand still in his grasp, Lucas swiftly and steadily swung the club. The ball flew straight into the hole.

Evelyn quickly stepped out of his range. She turned around with a cold expression and walked back.

Lucas shot a sidelong glance at her retreating figure, noticing the cool detachment in her attitude.

Mason was the first to spot Lucas aiding Evelyn with her swing. He clicked his tongue and instinctively looked over at Tiffany.

Tiffany calmly looked at the ball and then said without changing her expression, "Lucas, you lost. Mason and I got a higher score."

Lucas put one hand in his pocket and said calmly, "Alright, I admit defeat."

Mason laughed. "You were just held back. Besides, with your skill level, you could beat both of us. You clearly let Tiffany win to make her happy."

Only then did Tiffany raise her eyebrows and smile silently at Lucas.

Mason turned to look at Evelyn. With a sigh, he said, "As expected, you're not as good as Tiffany."

Clearly, he had left more things unsaid. On the surface, it might seem he was commenting on their golf scores. But in reality, his words carried a deeper implication.

Donald didn't take it seriously. After all, he didn't know the complex relationships between them. He waved his hand and said, "It's just a friendly match. There's no need to be so serious. None of us are professionals. We're just having some fun."

Mason smiled and nodded in agreement. "That's true."

Evelyn couldn't be bothered to argue over what Mason had said. She knew that if she took it seriously, everyone would think she couldn't take a joke.
