The Queen Returns—And She's Unforgiving novel Chapter 24

Evelyn had just left the villa and looked at the time—it was already 2:00 pm. It would take her approximately 40 minutes to get to the hospital, so she would arrive just in time.

Once she got into her car, she took another dose of medication, but its side effects were quite severe. She had recently begun experiencing intense dizziness after consuming her medications.

She had to talk to her doctor to come up with a proper treatment plan.

After she had managed to catch her breath, she drove to the hospital.

Sophia only came down after Evelyn left, having no plans to talk to her.

Evelyn used to constantly ask about Lucas' preferences and habits, always nagging Sophia about wearing skirts without tights during winter, and even worrying about her grades.

Did Evelyn really think that she had the ability to tutor her?

Hence, Sophia always avoided Evelyn whenever possible because Evelyn was too annoying. After all, Evelyn would never deny her whenever she needed her.

Margaret was about to head to the Grant Manor to send over the food when Sophia came down in a good mood. Sophia was even humming as she mentioned, "Just give it to me. I'll send the food over."

Not thinking much about it, Margaret handed the food to Sophia since Sophia had to return to the Grant Manor anyway.

The hospital Evelyn had chosen for treatment was the best private hospital in Clementon.

The medical services were far superior, and her uncle, Leonard, was also staying at the hospital's sanatorium. It had a better reputation compared to the other sanatoriums out there.

Of course, the cost of staying there was also exorbitant.

She had gained nothing from her three years of marriage to Lucas, except for a managerial position in the PR department that she had worked hard for.

Fortunately, she had a decent salary, allowing her to get by throughout the years.

Now that she was working with the Flying Seal Group, Justine and Sebastian were generous enough to give her a portion of their shares. Once a project was completed, she would receive at least 700,000 dollars through dividends.

That way, even if her treatment failed, she still would be able to keep a large sum of money for Leonard and Deborah. That way, they would still be able to live the rest of their lives comfortably.

It was one of the reasons why she had rushed to pick up the dreams she once had.

On one hand, she did not want to die with any regrets. On the other hand, she wanted to ensure that Deborah and Leonard would be well off without her.

Evelyn's primary care physician. Mike Fletcher, was a specialist within the hospital. He was a man in his 50s and suggested Evelyn undergo another round of testing.
