Luckily, Evelyn was strong and composed enough. Even though Arrowpoint Solutions had barged its way into the spotlight, she and Sebastian had already considered some practical issues.
They decided it was time to offer additional benefits to the Flying Seal Group employees as a way to steady the troops.
Sebastian had specially reserved a private room at The Versus that evening. He would invite the technical and project departments for dinner and to discuss Flying Seal Group's upcoming plans.
As the group arrived at The Versus, Evelyn's phone buzzed.
She glanced at it. It was the first message from Lucas since she got his new number.
"The day after tomorrow is Mr. Miller Senior's birthday banquet. Would you be able to attend it?"
Evelyn instinctively furrowed her brows.
Maria had mentioned this event before, saying she should attend with Lucas. She had assumed Lucas would find a way to decline, yet he still hadn't done so.
In what capacity were they supposed to attend together?
Let alone the fact that they were now in the middle of a divorce—even appearing together would raise eyebrows. How were they supposed to explain their relationship?
Even before the divorce, they had kept their marriage private.
It still wouldn't be appropriate. Lucas couldn't possibly not understand that.
"What's wrong, Evie?" Justine had stopped and turned back to look at Evelyn, calling out in confusion.
Evelyn snapped out of her thoughts. She considered it for a moment, then decided not to deal with it right now.
"I'm coming."
Sebastian was already leading the group toward the private room. Evelyn and Justine slowly followed them upstairs.
As they passed the second floor, they noticed a lively scene near another private room.
