Sensing a gaze on her, Evelyn looked over in that direction. Unexpectedly, her eyes met Lucas'.
But after only a couple of seconds, Lucas coldly averted his gaze. He showed no interest in her, his demeanor distant and indifferent.
It wasn't surprising to run into Lucas and Tiffany near the World Trade Center.
At this moment, Tiffany had affectionately linked her arm with Lucas' uninjured one. They had clearly been chatting and laughing, appearing very happy together.
Evelyn and Lucas had only finalized their divorce a few hours earlier, yet it seemed that Lucas and Tiffany had taken another step forward in their relationship.
Evelyn chose to pretend she didn't know them. She quietly pulled her arm out of Harry's grasp and turned to thank him, saying, "It's fine. I've been to the hospital already."
Harry furrowed his brows slightly. He sensed something was off about Evelyn. She didn't seem to have just a common headache or cold.
Tiffany had, of course, seen Evelyn and Harry standing together. She couldn't care less about Evelyn, but... She glanced at Harry, who was standing by Evelyn's side. How could Harry be associating with someone like Evelyn?
Had they planned to meet up or was it just a coincidence?
As far as she knew, they weren't familiar with each other. But just a moment ago, Harry had been helping Evelyn, and they looked a bit intimate.
Tiffany's brows furrowed together. Evelyn was more open than she had imagined. Or perhaps Evelyn felt that having Sebastian wasn't enough?
The thought made Tiffany's expression grow colder, and a hint of sarcasm slipped into her voice. She spoke matter-of-factly as if pondering aloud, "When did they get familiar enough to drink coffee together? Maybe they bumped into each other."
Lucas, who was walking ahead, glanced at his watch, his expression devoid of any emotions. "It's not important."
Tiffany tilted her head, looking at his cold, refined profile. A small smile tugged at her lips. She could tell that even though Lucas seemed uninterested in the person she mentioned, he still responded to her. He would always give her an answer.
