The Rebirth of the Betrayed Alpha novel Chapter 116

A soft breeze blows causing the leaves to brush against each other, a drop of water from the leaves falls on Nathaniel's cheek and he turns around, snoring softly.

He had walked around for a long moment to try and ease the pain in his heart only to fall asleep after a long time. Alexandra had done a lot to him and Nathaniel wanted to forget.

Deep down, Nathaniel was aware forgetting her wasn't going to be easy but he was going to try harder and he was going to begin by cutting ties with Guerrero territory, that way she would slowly stop invading his mind.

A drop of water falls on his cheek again and he wipes his face, slowly opening his eyes, stands up, stretches his weak body, and glances around the woods once more. This was goodbye from Guerrero's pack. Nathaniel smiles with hopes of never crossing paths again with anyone who would remind him of Alexandra Guerrero.

Memories invade his mind and he begins walking, he needed to leave the Guerrero territory else Alexandra won't stop invading his mind. As he walks past the lattice of trees, he stiffens seeing Alexandra lying on the ground, passed out at a close distance.

"Alexandra" He whispers looking around wondering if he's eyes were deceiving him.

Nathaniel turns around, that couldn't be the woman who had professed to be together with another man who he now considers his rival for her heart. Feeling a sharp surge through his heart, he leans against the tree exhaling deeply.

"Is not her, she's not real" He thinks to himself, closing his eyes for a moment.

Nathaniel was sure, Alexandra was probably in Adams's arms, tangled together as they sail off to a place of roses and silver where there was no pack to rule and no one to bother them. It would just be the two of them together, doing what he couldn't bring himself to imagine. Nathaniel quickly opens his eyes.

"Get out of my head, Alexandra Guerrero" He takes a step forward, wanting nothing more than to leave the Guerrero pack and back to his pack, then he would have to face his duties as the Alpha of Crimson pack.

As he moves away, Nathaniel could feel the familiar thumping beat of his heart, it was something that he could only feel if Alexandra was around. That familiar beat set his wolf apart, luring him to turn around and turn to look at her.

"Is it you?" He whispers, unable to bring his feet to move towards her.

Nathaniel stared at Alexandra, his heart yearning to reach out to her, but he couldn't do that, Alexandra hurt him, turning her back on him. She professed her undying love for Adam, which was like a sword to his heart and he could never forget that, if anything, he wanted nothing more to do with her.

"Let me be Alexandra" He yells to himself, running his hand through his hair frustrated, dreading why he had taken that path.

If he had known, Alexandra would be lying in front of him, waiting to be rescued, he would have taken the other way then he would miss out on the chance to see her face.
