As his eyes burn through her wounded body, Nathaniel breathes in and lifts her in his arms walking away.
"I hope I'm doing the right thing" Nathaniel whispers, dropping the gaze, walks out of the wood, opens his car, gently drops her behind, and closes the door. Nathaniel glances behind, looking towards the woods for a moment, he wonders whether Adam was still in the woods and probably wounded.
"Guess you are not coming" He jumps into the car, kicks off the engine, and speeds off into the road.
Driving through the lonely road, he looks at Alexandra through the rearview mirror.
"What happened to my Alexandra?"
Nathaniel smiles even though she wasn't his, he still felt as though she was fine right by his side. Dropping his gaze, he looks back at the road, driving past the familiar street he would never want to return to.
Nathaniel felt like this wasn't the end and somehow this may only be the beginning with Alexandra Guerrero, the mate he wanted to forget so badly.
"Am I making a mistake?" He mutters as he reaches the border of the Guerrero pack.
Nathaniel hits the brake, glances back at her, he wanted to turn the car around and drive back to her house, calling the pack doctor but his heart wanted to keep driving and so he kicked off his engine and continued moving along the smooth road.
A lot of things runs through his mind as he drove, he couldn't imagine what she went through and how much she had to endure while they inflicted pain on her body.
Tightening his fist around the steering, his blood boils hating how Adam failed to protect Alexandra. He had thought she would be happy with him and had walked away with hopes that she would be save by his side but little did he know that Alexandra was far from being saved. She had played a dangerous game and had gotten hurt along the way.
"You should have stayed by my side," He thinks to himself, glancing beside him, imagining Alexandra sitting next to him, like she did when they drove to the inn. A smile creeps on his face and he glances back at the road.
"She should have stayed by your side" Alexandra whispers locking eyes with Nathaniel.
"Go away" He states, wanting to be alone.
Talking to her imagination felt like talking to her and Nathaniel didn't want that, all he wanted was to get her to his pack and take care of her. He was going to stay by her side while she recovers and when she had recovered her strength and could move around again, Nathaniel was intending to send her away and that would be their goodbye.
"Why?"
"I don't want to see you"
"I didn't do anything"
"I know" He smiles, accelerating his speed.
Even though she was the reflection of Alexandra made through his mind, Nathaniel was happy he wasn't going to be alone as they drove to his pack.
"Is she severely hurt?"
"Yes" he glances at her through the rearview mirror
"Are you mad at her?"
"I was"
Alexandra smiles, he could see right through him. "You are still mad at her, right? I can sense it"
As reality engulfs him, Nathaniel keeps silent, his heart was beaten up, bleeding as it beats and he couldn't deny the fact that he was mad at her but she was injured so he couldn't vent his anger, and that hurt even more.
"Yes I am"
