Watching Alexandra while she sat on the ground staring into space. Nathaniel could only imagine what she was thinking. He could ask her but yet again, she wasn't comfortable. Nathaniel saw a look of something he couldn't quite decipher in her eyes.
Sensing as though she was been watched, Alexandra turns sharply and sees him staring at her intently.
"Why are you gawking at me?"
"A penny for your thought?"
"That depends"
"On what Alexandra? Tell me what are you thinking?" Nathaniel asked.
After spending hours with her, he was happy she has calmed down. Nathaniel himself wasn't what was going on, he didn't know if it was because of the words he had said to her or because of the fact that they were still hiding.
Should he have brought his car? Did he make a mistake telling her about the man in the woods?
Nathaniel shook his head. Now wasn't the right time to be thinking about all of this. Telling her may not have been the best thing to do considering the time and circumstances surrounding. But Nathaniel wasn't sure when the right time would be. Ever since he met Alexandra, life hasn't been all rainbows and unicorns. She was complicated and now he understood why.
"It depend on why you were staring at me"
"I'm staring at you because you are beautiful and I just can't help staring at you Alexandra"
"Nathaniel please"
Nathaniel knew what she was pleading for and although he didn't like it choose to keep silent and just smile. The kind of smile that assured Alexandra that he didn't quite agree with her but was going to let it go.
"You don't want to say something"
"What should I say?" Nathaniel asked. His eyes twinkled and Alexandra found herself wanting to be immersed in those hazel eyes.
Hating to have such thought, Alexandra blinks her eyes and looked away. Thinking about him in such manner was bad but love just couldn't just be for her and Nathaniel's action was part of why she had such thought.
Although a part of her had wanted this to be a dream, it has wanted her past to never exist then she wouldn’t be here doubting him. Maybe she would have flung her arms around his neck while their lips captured creating a electrifying moment between them.
But her past did exist and so she couldn't just turn a blind eye to it.
"Are you hungry?" Nathaniel asked hating the silence between them.
It was awkward, though he didn't want any of this, choose to give her space to calm down but now she was calm and Nathaniel wasn't going to let this silence go on any longer.
"In this time?"
"Yes"
"Well I couldn't quite be –"
Alexandra was cut off by the loud grumbling of her stomach. Nathaniel chuckles.
"You're hilarious"
