Without hesitation, Willow shook her head and said, "Nope. At that time, Mom and Dad had just passed away. Nobody was willing to be my guardian, so Daddy took me in and became my guardian."
Then, Willow added, "In the beginning, Daddy had a lot of important work."
As if fearing I didn't understand, Willow explained, "I meant work that required Daddy to be present. He had to be there.
"Yet, he still delegated the work to someone else because of me. I heard that many people complained about him because of that incident. They criticized him for being irresponsible."
Willow's voice softened as she continued. She said, "At that time, Daddy must've been misunderstood. They all say that Daddy puts work first, but I know that he never prioritizes work over me."
I felt happy for Zane. His daughter was smart to notice all that he had done for her.
"Yeah. You see? He loves you. Regardless of whether you're his biological daughter, he still loves you, doesn't he?"
Willow nodded and said, "Yeah."
I continued, "Regardless of whether he has a biological child, you will always be important and unique to him."
Upon hearing that, Willow felt more at ease. She said, "That's a relief."
Then, she hugged me tightly and said, "Actually, I wish you would marry Daddy. That way, we will be a real family! But I'm also scared that you might abandon me when you have your own child.
"It's good that we talked it out!" Willow exclaimed happily. "I feel much better now, Mommy."
