The Return of My First Love novel Chapter 95

Emily

"How about I let you know if I have any more jobs lined up for you," I heard him say into the phone, his voice extrEmilyely casual as if he was talking to a friend.

Curious, I stepped out of bed and headed to the closet, leaning against the door, watching him multitask between packing and handling a phone call. When he noticed my presence, he looked at me with a nervous, faint smile.

That look made me wonder who was on the other end, and why he was eyeing me as if I was supposed to snatch the phone from his grip.

"She's here, watching me like a hawk," he continued, making me feel a bit like an intruder. "Who is that?" I whispered, unable to contain my curiosity any longer.

Alessio ignored my question. "She isn't really into that kind of stuff, but I'll let her know," he spoke back.

"Let me know what?"

Still no answer.

"Just like you, I also have a flight in the early morning, so I'll let you rest," he ended the call, greeting with a simple ‘bye' before hanging up the phone.

Who was he talking to, what was it about, and what was he planning? These questions swirled in my head as he went back to packing without acknowledging me.

"Bro," I said, knowing how much he hated me calling him that. Then I jumped on his back in a playful attEmilypt to surprise him, and luckily he grabbed me, right before putting me back onto the floor again. "Who was that, hmm?"

"That…escort that helped me," he said, and I knew why he had ended the call as quickly as he did. We already had a fight about that, and there was no point in doing it all over again.

"But you said something about flying?" I questioned, trying to piece together the puzzle.

"She's also one of our flight attendants. Small world."

"Wow, she's a hard worker," I rEmilyarked, but not to be bitchy. I was genuinely impressed by her passion for work. "Anyway, will she be flying with you tomorrow?"

I tried my hardest not to sound jealous, but was clearly failing.

"No, she isn't coming tomorrow," he chuckled.

"Then why did she call you, and what did she ask about me?" I continued my interrogation, very well aware that I was probably the most annoying woman at the moment, but I didn't care. I had questions, and he was going to answer thEmily.

"She called to ask if I had any other jobs lined up for her, and she wanted to know if she should buy you a bag," Alessio shared like a good, obedient puppy. "I told her—"

"I'm not into that kind of stuff, I heard," I said. "Still nice of her to offer."

"Yes, really nice," Alessio spoke, full of sarcasm.
