Then, he asked her, “What’re you eating?”
Cindy responded, “Oh, it’s ramen. You haven’t eaten yet, right? I’ll prepare some food right away.”
She eagerly jumped off the sofa without even finishing the remaining of her noodles and went to the fridge to bring out the ingredients.
Fortunately, she’d already prepared everything beforehand, so the cooking didn’t take up too much time.
Ian followed her to the kitchen and decided to watch her by the door again.
Cindy didn’t kick him out this time; she asked him as she sauteed some vegetables, “I’m guessing you got the part in the TV show.”
Ian leaned against the frame of the door. “Yeah, I got it. I’ll be going on set next month.”
Cindy chuckled when she heard that. “Did you get to see the female lead, then? From what I saw online, they seem to have casted Winter Gray. She’s an actress that’s always in the spotlight recently in the entertainment industry, and she even won an award for her previous TV show.”
Ian gave it a thought. “I’m not sure, but according to Hannah, she was probably there today as well. I didn’t look out for her, though.” Cindy nodded when she heard his answer. “Right, that makes sense. You’re going to film a number of scenes together after this anyway, so you two can meet whenever you want when the time comes.”
Ian found her words amusing. “Why would I want to meet her?”
Cindy kept on stir frying as she said, “Why wouldn’t you want to meet a beautiful woman like her? Are you even a normal human being?”
Ian pouted jokingly; he was in the mood to tease around today. “Are you saying I’m abnormal? You’ve gone too far this time, little lady. I’ll have to use force on you if you keep that up.”
Cindy turned her head and glanced at Ian. She somehow felt a lot braver today and retorted with a sigh, “To be honest, I saw some comments online a while ago; many people thought that your public confession was clearly a very bold act, but you began to hide away your girlfriend after that. As such, they started wondering about your sexuality. Since nobody’s around right now, you can tell me the truth. Are you actually gay?”
Ian couldn’t help but chortle. “You really dare to ask anything, huh? Aren’t you afraid that I’ll prove it to you on the spot?”
Cindy chuckled lightly as she cooked. “Can you blame me for being curious? Why are you suddenly so serious? Is there something you can’t tell me?”
As soon as the words left her mouth, she burst into a hearty laugh.
She waved her hand at him and finally said, “All right, I won’t joke with you anymore. Gosh, that was so funny.”
Her eyes curved into crescents as she smiled brightly. It was inexplicably contagious, for it tickled his heart and even left an itch in his mouth.
Ian stared at her for a while before he walked up to her all of a sudden. With an extended hand, he pinched her chin and nudged her face toward his, leaning in as he did so. “Is it really that funny? Come on, show me that smile of yours again.”
They were standing quite close to each other at this point and could even feel each other’s breaths.
The smile on Cindy’s face froze in an instant, for her face had never been so close to a man’s before.
Needless to say, regardless of how much she willed herself to stay calm, her heart couldn’t help but speed up as her palms grew sweaty.
Ian’s smile disappeared as well. His expression wasn’t too strict nor was it too emotional—it was a strange balance between these two, and the sight of it made Cindy’s heart shudder.
A moment later, Ian let go of her chin at last. “Look at how frightened you are. You’re just a wimp, so quit acting so tough in front of me.”
He then turned around and started walking outside as he purposely said in a stern tone, “You’d better cook faster. Don’t think I won’t cut your salary if you let me starve.”
Cindy immediately took a deep breath. “What a heartless capitalist.”
After that, the somewhat awkward atmosphere from earlier finally dissipated a little.
This man… Why did he suddenly take action today? Could it be that the one before this wasn’t Sophia, but that Logan guy?
Aha… If that’s the case, it seems like some things aren’t what they appear to be.
When she thought of that, she let out a depressed sigh.
It’d be such a waste if a hot guy like him turns out to be gay…
Ian was halfway through an episode of a TV show when Cindy was done cooking.
She brought the food outside and said again, “Perhaps the producer was sincerely inviting you to lunch; maybe he wanted to bring the two main leads together to kickstart your chemistry with each other. That way, it’ll be easier to get into the mood during romantic scenes.”
Ian chuckled as he slowly made his way to the table. “That’s all the more reason for me to not go, then. Have you forgotten that the public thinks I already have a girlfriend? I don’t know how hard I’ll be bashed if I really went and bonded with the female lead.”

Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
