Ian did not wait for Gary to speak. Instead, he said, “Cindy told me about the investment plan you had and I think that it’s a good idea, so I would like to take a look with her. Could you explain it to both of us?”
Gary smiled at that. “Sure. Take a seat.”
Then, he explained the investment plan to Ian, the same way that he had explained to Cindy.
It was quite obvious that Ian was not knowledgeable in this area, but he listened carefully and asked a few questions.
At the end, Ian nodded. “Okay, then. Let’s just follow the plans that you recommend.”
Cindy was the one who still had to sign the contract, but Ian immediately transferred the money to the finance department of Gary’s office.
At that, Gary shot a glance at Ian. “Don’t you have any shoots today, Mr. Morgan?”
Ian put his phone away and murmured, “Yes, but it’s in the afternoon, so I can still make it.”
Gary then looked at Cindy. “Initially, I wanted to buy you guys lunch but since you already have another shoot later, let’s reschedule.”
At that moment, Cindy remembered that she agreed to buy Gary a meal, so she quickly offered, “Are you free tonight? I can treat you to a meal tonight.”
However, Gary merely waved off her answer. “There’s no rush. Let’s get back to that after we earn some money here.” In the end, they did not spend too much time there. After signing the contract, Cindy and Ian made to leave, so Gary sent them downstairs.
“Have a safe trip back.”
Cindy felt rather embarrassed at this point. “You can go back to work now. I’m sorry for taking so much of your time.”
Gary did not reply to her and instead made a gesture that signaled that he would only leave after they got into the car.
And so, Ian hailed a cab. After they got into it, Cindy rolled down the windows and waved to Gary.
He waved back and waited until the car left before he turned around and went back to his office.
Leaning against the seat, Ian was silent for a moment before saying, “He treats you really well.”
However, Cindy did not think so. “It’s not just me. I think he is a well-mannered person.”
Ian smiled and did not refute her statement.
I wonder if she is innocent or just a bit dumb. She seems to have very good impressions of people whom she meets for the first time.
When they reached Ian’s place, the driver was already waiting for them downstairs, so he was quite shocked to see them coming back from somewhere. “Were you guys out just now?”
Cindy quickly hummed in reply as she ran to their unit to take Ian’s makeup box, but he called after her. “You wait here. I’ll go.”
She froze for a moment before she quickly countered, “No, it’s okay. I’ll take it.”
However, Ian ignored her and he walked to the door in huge strides.
When he passed her by, he patted her shoulder. “Wait for me in the car.”
She blinked, confused as to what he was up to.
Even though the public thought that she was his girlfriend, that was certainly not the case.
Isn’t this something that I, as his assistant, should do?
The driver was all smiles as he witnessed their exchange. After Cindy got into the car, he said, “The relationship between both of you is unusual. He knows how to take care of you now.”
Upon hearing that, she frowned. “I don’t think so. Perhaps he forgot something upstairs and wanted to take it as well.”
The driver arched his eyebrows, obviously not believing her words. “Do you even believe what you are saying?”
Cindy’s expression was tense and she tried her very best to not let her emotions show. “Why not? I’m telling the truth. If you don’t believe me, you can ask Ian himself when he is back.”
Of course, it was impossible for the driver to tease Ian as the latter would never admit to it.
After a while, the man in question came down with the makeup box in his hands.
It seems like he didn’t take anything else.
After he got into the car, the driver started to speak as he started the engine. “It seems that these days, Mr. Morgan knows how to treasure Cindy more.”
At that, both Ian and Cindy froze, but the former quickly retracted his gaze and did not give any explanation.
