Chapter 1543 Why Did He Treat Her So Well?

She crossed her arms and leaned against the wall as she recalled the scene when they met Gary in the morning.

She wondered if Ian was being forced to put on an act, but he treated her very gently in front of Gary, to the point of holding her hand when they left his company.

Back then, she thought that Ian just wanted to put on an act for Gary and did not think too much into it.

However, when she thought about it now, she raised her hand and looked at it.

In all honesty, Ian did not have to do that. After all, Gary was not someone in the entertainment industry and he did not care what the relationship between both of them was. It was unnecessary for Ian to put on the act in the morning.

He should probably understand this, so Cindy was confused by his reaction.

Meanwhile, Ian zoned out when he was shooting the program.

There was a female guest in the show who spoke to him while they were still filming.

She was probably joking with him as she asked him with a bright smile when he would break up and if she could be a substitute.

Probably no one took it seriously, but Ian remembered it, not because of the female guest, but because he thought about when he would publicly announce the breakup with Cindy.

Since the company accepted the couples’ reality show for both him and Cindy, it was highly probable that they had no plans for them to announce their breakup for the time being.

Hence, he would have to continue the act with her as a couple for a long time.

This also meant that they had to stay in the same house. He did not object to the idea but he felt that sooner or later, trouble would come knocking.

Truth be told, he was worried about himself.

For example, when he and Cindy met Gary in the morning, he felt that Gary was being way too nice to her.

He initially wondered if he was overthinking it.

After all, with Gary’s position, many businesses would want to suck up to him, but he might not even pay any attention to them.

On the other hand, Cindy was not rich and she was not very good at sweet talking. She is merely humble, so why is Gary treating her so well?

It was difficult for Ian not to overthink.

Hence, he failed to control himself and continued the act in front of Gary for a bit more.

Because of his actions, he had made Cindy feel embarrassed and he also made his own position an awkward one.

In the end, Ian did not know how he had completed the show. He even made a few obvious mistakes in a few games in the middle of the show.

As it was a fairly funny show, some people joked that he was hopeless at games.

Apart from that, they even teased that he had always been quite smart in games but he was not paying enough attention today.

Ian explained with a smile, “I played the games with my usual deduction and thought process. It’s just that you guys are too smart.”

Everyone laughed and did not take it seriously, but Ian himself knew the actual reason—he was being affected by Cindy.

Right now, all he could think about was how she chatted with Gary in his office. The scene troubled him greatly.

He had never felt this exhausted filming a show and it was quite a torture for him this time.

However, he tolerated it until the entire show finished filming. After that, he felt himself heaving a long sigh as he suppressed his annoyance and bade farewell to all the other guests.

After making sure that he showed enough manners only did he leave.

As soon as Ian walked out of the filming studio, he made a turn and started heading toward the corridor that led to the makeup room.

He immediately saw Cindy, who was standing at the doorway of the makeup room with her back against the wall and her head lowered as she looked at her toes.

When he saw her like that, he inexplicably felt a little sorry for her.

Perhaps every time I’m filming something, she waits for me quietly in a corner alone.
