Spacing out, Cindy clutched her cell phone in her hand for a long time as she pondered. Finally, she checked the bus tickets going back to her hometown.
Did she really want to go back? Of course not, but she couldn’t keep staying in the hotel. If she really parted ways with Ian after this, she would lose her source of income. Therefore, she had to cut down on her expenses.
She checked all the bus schedules and came to the conclusion that it was quite troublesome to go home from where she was now because she had to transit in between. Because of this, the journey on the road would be a little delayed.
Honestly, she didn’t really want to go through all these hassle, and there was only her mother at home when she returned. Being not that close with her mother, she reckoned that they would find each other an eyesore if they faced each other every day.
With so many considerations, Cindy couldn’t make up her mind in the end even after she had been through the ticket information.
Although she wasn’t sure what she was looking forward to, she felt that she was caught in between a rock and a hard place.
While she found it difficult to leave without a care just like that, she couldn’t just sit around and wait for Ian’s reaction, either.
This is really too difficult to decide! she thought in frustration.
So, she placed her cell phone aside and threw herself onto the bed before pulling the sheets over, wrapping it around herself snugly. She thought that she would be able to fall asleep if she just closed her eyes for a while, but barely a minute had passed when her cell phone beeped unexpectedly beside her.
Her eyes, which were tightly shut, flew open in a split second. Thinking that Ian had sent her another text, she was suddenly wide awake and alert.
After a short moment of hesitation, she wriggled out of the sheets and reached out for her cell phone to read the text, but it wasn’t from Ian.
Much to her surprise, it was a text from Yulia. We’ve never exchanged contact numbers. How did she get my number?
In her text, Yulia was very straightforward, saying that she wanted to talk to her about the news on the internet.
Frowning, Cindy felt that there was nothing to talk about with her about those rumors. Even though there was some involvement between them in those reports, nothing happened in reality.
Hence, she didn’t immediately reply to her. But her actions seemed to make Yulia quite anxious, for another text came soon after.
This time, she said that she could bring Ian along if Cindy was worried, and all three of them could talk things out. Amused, Cindy thought, She makes it sound like there’s some sort of triangle relationship between us. A falling out between the legal wife and the mistress perhaps?
A short moment of hesitation later, she wrote a polite reply to Yulia. ‘I believe there’s nothing between you and Ian, and we’re not affected by the news and criticisms online. So, please don’t worry about it.’
She was turning down her invitation to meet up. That was the message behind her reply. As they were all adults, Yulia should understand what she meant to say even when she didn’t put it in the exact words.
All of a sudden, there was no more coming from Yulia’s side. Cindy knew very well that Yulia had always been a proud person, and she must have thought it through for a long time before taking the initiative to text her.
And now, Cindy even turned her down without hesitation. I wonder if she’ll hate me for it, given her personality.
But… whatever. Thanks to Yulia’s texts, Cindy could forget about falling asleep now. Hence, she got up and turned on the TV.
Picking out a variety show, she didn’t expect that it was one of the episodes that Ian had participated in the filming before. At first, she wanted to change the channel, but her hand stopped mid-air with the remote control for a second before she lowered it again. I’m not at that point where I can’t even watch a show with him in it. No, I’m not.
Then, she watched the show attentively, and realized that Ian was very silent. Normally, he wouldn’t speak a lot and would only say something in reply when someone directed the conversation at him. In fact, he was quite a bore in variety shows and should get less screen time, logically speaking. But maybe because he was pretty popular, for the host would always cue him and give him as many frame shots as possible.
