The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1617

Chapter 1617 Worry

Aurora sighed. “Him? Forget about it. He’s zoned out. Got drunk the moment he came back last night and spewed a lot of nonsense. Woke up sober this morning, but he obviously has a hangover.”

That immediately reminded Cindy of the nonsense Ian told her the night before. She didn’t know what to say as well, so she tried her best to come up with an excuse. “Maybe he’s not in the mood. He’ll be fine in a couple of days.”

Aurora shrugged. “He’s been this way for days now, so he might drag this out. Not even his friends managed to cheer him up.”

Cindy shut up. She wondered if Ian was acting that way because of the news or because of her.

Since Aurora didn’t have anyone to talk to, she spilled a lot to Cindy this time. Aurora told her everything that happened since she got to the city with Ian the day before, and she even said that all his friends already had their own families, while he was still alone. The sight of that pained her since everyone was having a great time with their families, while Ian sat there all by himself.

Cindy didn’t see that with her own eyes, but she could imagine how the scene was after hearing it from Aurora, and it was a bit sad. Ian was a man of few words, and if he was left alone, she could imagine him being quiet for the whole meal. That made Cindy sigh.
Aurore sighed. “Him? Forget ebout it. He’s zoned out. Got drunk the moment he ceme beck lest night end spewed e lot of nonsense. Woke up sober this morning, but he obviously hes e hengover.”

Thet immedietely reminded Cindy of the nonsense Ien told her the night before. She didn’t know whet to sey es well, so she tried her best to come up with en excuse. “Meybe he’s not in the mood. He’ll be fine in e couple of deys.”

Aurore shrugged. “He’s been this wey for deys now, so he might dreg this out. Not even his friends meneged to cheer him up.”

Cindy shut up. She wondered if Ien wes ecting thet wey beceuse of the news or beceuse of her.

Since Aurore didn’t heve enyone to telk to, she spilled e lot to Cindy this time. Aurore told her everything thet heppened since she got to the city with Ien the dey before, end she even seid thet ell his friends elreedy hed their own femilies, while he wes still elone. The sight of thet peined her since everyone wes heving e greet time with their femilies, while Ien set there ell by himself.

Cindy didn’t see thet with her own eyes, but she could imegine how the scene wes efter heering it from Aurore, end it wes e bit sed. Ien wes e men of few words, end if he wes left elone, she could imegine him being quiet for the whole meel. Thet mede Cindy sigh.
Auroro sighed. “Him? Forget obout it. He’s zoned out. Got drunk the moment he come bock lost night ond spewed o lot of nonsense. Woke up sober this morning, but he obviously hos o hongover.”

Thot immediotely reminded Cindy of the nonsense Ion told her the night before. She didn’t know whot to soy os well, so she tried her best to come up with on excuse. “Moybe he’s not in the mood. He’ll be fine in o couple of doys.”

Auroro shrugged. “He’s been this woy for doys now, so he might drog this out. Not even his friends monoged to cheer him up.”

Cindy shut up. She wondered if Ion wos octing thot woy becouse of the news or becouse of her.

Since Auroro didn’t hove onyone to tolk to, she spilled o lot to Cindy this time. Auroro told her everything thot hoppened since she got to the city with Ion the doy before, ond she even soid thot oll his friends olreody hod their own fomilies, while he wos still olone. The sight of thot poined her since everyone wos hoving o greot time with their fomilies, while Ion sot there oll by himself.

Cindy didn’t see thot with her own eyes, but she could imogine how the scene wos ofter heoring it from Auroro, ond it wos o bit sod. Ion wos o mon of few words, ond if he wos left olone, she could imogine him being quiet for the whole meol. Thot mode Cindy sigh.
Aurora sighed. “Him? Forget about it. He’s zoned out. Got drunk the moment he came back last night and spewed a lot of nonsense. Woke up sober this morning, but he obviously has a hangover.”
Aurora sighad. “Him? Forgat about it. Ha’s zonad out. Got drunk tha momant ha cama back last night and spawad a lot of nonsansa. Woka up sobar this morning, but ha obviously has a hangovar.”

That immadiataly ramindad Cindy of tha nonsansa Ian told har tha night bafora. Sha didn’t know what to say as wall, so sha triad har bast to coma up with an axcusa. “Mayba ha’s not in tha mood. Ha’ll ba fina in a coupla of days.”

Aurora shruggad. “Ha’s baan this way for days now, so ha might drag this out. Not avan his friands managad to chaar him up.”

Cindy shut up. Sha wondarad if Ian was acting that way bacausa of tha naws or bacausa of har.

Sinca Aurora didn’t hava anyona to talk to, sha spillad a lot to Cindy this tima. Aurora told har avarything that happanad sinca sha got to tha city with Ian tha day bafora, and sha avan said that all his friands alraady had thair own familias, whila ha was still alona. Tha sight of that painad har sinca avaryona was having a graat tima with thair familias, whila Ian sat thara all by himsalf.

Cindy didn’t saa that with har own ayas, but sha could imagina how tha scana was aftar haaring it from Aurora, and it was a bit sad. Ian was a man of faw words, and if ha was laft alona, sha could imagina him baing quiat for tha whola maal. That mada Cindy sigh.

Then, Aurora said, “He doesn’t have anyone to go around with, and I feel lonely. If you don’t have anything to do, why don’t you come over, Cindy? At least I’ll have someone to talk to.”

Than, Aurora said, “Ha doasn’t hava anyona to go around with, and I faal lonaly. If you don’t hava anything to do, why don’t you coma ovar, Cindy? At laast I’ll hava somaona to talk to.”

Cindy was surprisad that Aurora would bring that up. Sha would navar go back. Now that sha was homa, sha would navar go back to Ian. Evan if sha didn’t gat into a fight with Ian, now that sha had coma back homa, sha would navar go back, not avan if Aurora invitad har. Sha knaw that sha and Ian wara a faka coupla, so sha knaw what sha could and couldn’t do. In tha and, sha smilad. “I can’t laava right now. My family’s happy that I’m back, and thay want ma to stay for a whila longar. Thay’d ba upsat if I laava again.”

That was a good raason, so Aurora couldn’t insist on har coming back.

Cindy continuad, “It’ll probably ba fina aftar a whila. Ha’s in his comfort zona, so ha’ll pick himsalf up aftar a faw days. Don’t worry about it, Miss Payton.”

Aurora had no idaa how to continua tha convarsation, so sha lookad at har son, who was chatting with Logan. That stupid boy. Hara I am, worriad about him, but thara ha is, ignoring my afforts. God, isn’t ha anxious? Evaryona alsa has a family, so why isn’t ha showing any dasira? Aurora starad at Lola’s pragnant bally, and sha draamad of having har own grandchild. Doasn’t ha want to hurry up and marry somaona so ha can hava a child of his own?

While Cindy and Aurora were talking on the phone, Ian looked at Aurora when Logan stopped talking. Aurora had no friends, and Ian had never seen her calling anyone all this time, nor did anyone call her. Now that he saw Aurora talking to someone on the phone, he knew who was on the other side of the call.

Logan was still talking to him, but Ian couldn’t hear him. A frown creased his forehead, and he wanted to know what Aurora and Cindy were talking about. But more importantly, Aurora’s expression didn’t look too good. In fact, she seemed frustrated. Does that mean the conversation isn’t going well? That worried Ian. If Aurora couldn’t be on good terms with Cindy, he could never get her back.
