The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1646

Chapter 1646 Dinner

Ian gritted his teeth and looked at her in disgust. I knew it. Women are hypocrites. I never knew she could be so sweet to a total stranger. She’s more complex than I thought she was. He went away and sat far away from her.

Cindy didn’t care. After she was done chatting, Aurora had come out from the bathroom, so Cindy took her change of clothes and went in. Aurora didn’t talk to Ian either. Instead, she went to take some food out of the fridge to make dinner.

Ian was restless that the ladies were ignoring him.

Cindy finished fast, and after that, she went to help Aurora in the kitchen. Her hair was wet, she was wearing casual attire, and she had no makeup on. Ian thought she looked fine that way.

That harkened him back to the day he kissed her. Are girls’ lips that soft? But that’s not the only spot that’s soft. He remembered her pouncing on him when she was drunk. When he held her, she felt really soft.

Alright, I’m really getting led astray here. He stopped thinking and turned his back on the kitchen. Ian took a few deep breaths before going to his room to take his change of clothes and went into the bathroom. There was some steam left, but Cindy had tidied the bathroom up before she left. He stood in front of the basin and looked around. Cindy’s skincare items were on the rack, and her hair clip was there as well. He took it one by one to have a closer look before putting them back.

For some reason, he thought he was being a pervert who was peeping on someone. It didn’t sit right with him, so he took his clothes off and went to take his shower. The sound of water drowned out all the sounds outside, so he slowly calmed down and went back to finish his earlier train of thoughts.

So what if Gary likes her? Does it have anything to do with me? No. He looked up and let the shower rain down on him. For a moment, he stopped breathing as an idea struck him. However, it was too scary to think about, so he shook his head and put it aside. Impossible. Why did I even think about that? Preposterous. Shocked, he quickly finished showering, dried himself, wore his clothes, and went out.

The ladies were still cooking but Ian didn’t want to wait near them, so he went back to his room. When he closed his door and looked at the bed, he got restless. Where’s Cindy gonna sleep tonight? I wonder if mom will let Cindy sleep with her. If she doesn’t, does that mean we have to sleep on the same bed? It was a horrifying thought.

Ian opened the windows and rummaged all over for his cigarette. He lit one up and puffed slowly beside the window. It’s just sleeping in the same room. If we do nothing, then it’s nothing, right? Will I do anything? No. Ian thought he could control himself, since he wasn’t a creep who would drool whenever he saw a woman.

He puffed his cigarette again. It’s not as complicated as I made it out to be. Sleeping on the same bed isn’t a big deal.

After the ladies were done making dinner, Cindy sat down and didn’t look like she was going to tell Ian dinner was ready.

Aurora looked at her and sighed silently. Looks like I have to do it. She knocked on his door, and luckily he came out without throwing any tantrums. He didn’t make any snarky comments either.

Ian completely changed his attitude when they sat down for dinner. He asked Aurora how she felt about the earlier badminton match, and whether she had fun.

Aurora smiled. “Oh yes. The kids were really friendly and polite. They were really patient with us.”

Ian nodded. “As long as you’re happy.”
