However, at this point, Bryce would very much love to listen to Ian saying nice words, even though Ian was unwilling to do so. It would be much better than the way the man currently spoke—every word was sharp and hurtful.
Bryce had no other way to speak to him, so he remained silent for a few seconds before saying, “When you are free, do come over. I can meet you at any time. Once you have made the arrangements and settled your company issues, I have something to tell you too.”
Ian directly said, “I heard that you appointed an attorney.”
That was enough to render Bryce speechless.
After sensing the silence, Ian continued, “It wasn't Sean who told me this; it was Leah. She called me a few times and told me that you found an attorney. Her position is now unstable and she asked me what has been going on.”
Bryce could not contain himself and viciously noted, “It seems like they still haven’t given up. They really thought I was about to die and were waiting for the inheritance.”
It was only after thinking about those words that Ian responded, “If what you planned to tell me is related to this, you can forget it. I don’t care about how you divide your assets. Even if you feel guilty for what you have done to me and want to make it up to me, there’s no need for this.”
He paused for a second before continuing, “If you have really repented and think that you were wrong back then, apologize to my mom. You ruined her whole life. She is a headstrong person. Even if you guys haven’t spoken to each other for many years now, she still holds a grudge on what happened in the past. I don’t need your compensation—my life is still good even without you. If you really are sorry, the easiest thing you can do is to apologize to the people whom you have hurt.”
In fact, Ian also knew that it was difficult to ask Bryce to apologize to Aurora.
She was different from Sean, who was irreplaceable to Bryce.
He would be willing to lower himself in front of Sean, but he would definitely be unwilling to do so in front of Aurora.
However, Ian did not force Bryce to do so. After saying all that, he gently sighed. “You decide for yourself. I just want to mention this to you, but the final decision remains with you.” He also wasn’t expecting Bryce to immediately reply.
With that, he continued, “Check your schedule. After some discussion here, I think tomorrow or the day after is fine. I will call you beforehand for the preparations. If there are no other matters, that’s all.”
Bryce was still silent. Upon realizing that, Ian immediately hung up.
As he did not return to his room to answer the call, Cindy had heard everything.
She hugged him from behind and said, “Don’t be annoyed. Even if he is unwilling to compromise on the surface, I bet he has already known his mistakes deep down and feels sorry about it.”
After placing his phone back into his pocket, Ian buried his hand in them as well. “I hope so. I just want my mom to let this matter go.”
Since Bryce did not say anything, Ian knew that Aurora had always remembered what happened between them both.
She had been quarelling with Bryce and wanted to see him fail so that she could insult him when she merely wanted to vent her anger in reality.
If he was willing to admit to his mistakes, she would probably be willing to let it slide.
Both Ian and Cindy stayed in the living room for some time before they sat on the couch to watch the television.
A moment later, Ian’s phone vibrated in his pocket. He fished it out and realized that Bryce had sent another message, asking him to bring Aurora over the next time he would visit.
Upon seeing Bryce’s reply, Ian thought that his earlier words had taken their effect.
Meanwhile, Cindy also scooted over to look at the message on his phone and she was shocked about it.
“Oh, what does this mean? He’s asking us to bring Mrs. Morgan over. Doesn’t that illustrate that he’s agreeing to your request just now?”
Ian could not help twitching his lips into a smile. “Who knows? But it’s a good sign.”
In the evening, Aurora made dinner. It was probably because she had a nice nap, but she seemed to be in a good mood and kept humming songs while she cooked.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
