The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1852

Chapter 1852 The Announcement of Bryce’s Will

The more Cindy thought about this, the happier she felt. When she spoke, she couldn't contain her excitement. “When I become successful here, I will get you in.”

“Okay, I’ll remember what you said. I'll be waiting for you. The rest of my life will depend on you then,” Naomi answered quickly from the other end of the line.

Cindy smiled; she was elated and today's event could be regarded as the happiest moment for her during this period of time. The driver had gotten out of the car to smoke, so she sat in the car alone and talked to Naomi.

Naomi wasn't very busy either because she didn't have much work recently, so she was very leisurely. Then, she said, “Small companies are like this. Who knows, maybe I’ll be out of work tomorrow.”

After that, she changed the topic to Cindy again. “This is why I envy you. Paramount Group is an excellent company. Other than the ease of looking for jobs after leaving Paramount Group in the future, you can also learn a lot there, especially things that you can’t learn from other companies.”

Again, Naomi smacked her lips and asked, “Cindy, why is your life so good?”

Cindy leaned against the car seat. “I'm lucky; I'm just lucky.”

Her life was not good; besides, she had experienced hardship before with a pitiful life in the past. It was just that she felt that this world was a balanced one whereby life would be accompanied by equal measures of blessings and misfortunes. As she had suffered too much before, God decided to give her a little sweetness in life now. The big man sent Ian to her before providing her with such a good opportunity at work.

She thought that she would be laughing in her dreams when she thought about these as it wasn’t something she dared to dream about before.

Cindy chatted with Naomi for more than half an hour before hanging up. She leaned back in her chair, hummed a little song, and tightly held her diploma. Life for her was comfortable these days and she felt more energetic.

Soon, Ian called Cindy during the filming break. She stared at the phone and took a few deep breaths before picking it up as she thought about how to break the news to him.

When she answered, his voice was flat as he asked what she was doing, to which she answered, “I’m in the car and waiting for you outside. You can just come out once you’re done filming there.”

Ian was probably in a corner with no one around, so he could speak more freely. “When I came here earlier, those people had complicated expressions when they saw me. I can't tell whether they are happy, but they should be at least surprised."

Cindy didn't react in time and asked, “Didn't they all know who would be participating in this show from the beginning? Why are they surprised to see you?”

His voice was filled with amusement as he replied, “They’re probably surprised that I can still continue working, given my situation.”

Hearing that, she laughed after thinking about it. It was true that if it were other people in Ian’s situation, they would probably be deeply affected and lose their popularity. No one could have imagined that Ian could return to where he was before with the help of the Morgan Family. Hannah even said that it was something she did not expect.

Thinking of this, Cindy asked Ian, “You received a call from Sean last night, right? What did he say?”

The moment Cindy mentioned this, Ian suddenly remembered that there was something he forgot. Sean had indeed called Ian last night and said that he had made an appointment with a lawyer for the will to be announced today. After all, there was no way to delay this matter since Leah was still eager to know the contents of the will. By this time, it should have been announced.

Sean also said that they agreed to meet with the lawyer in the morning, but he didn't tell Ian the exact time and Ian didn't ask either. It was almost noon, so they had probably already met. Ian wondered whether there would be a pandemonium there, and what would happen if there was one.

In any case, Ian repeated what Sean said on the phone yesterday to Cindy.

Cindy took a deep breath and replied, “Wait, I'll check the Internet to see if there is any news from the Morgan Family. It seems that the paparazzi are still waiting there for the latest breaking news.”

Ian agreed. “Okay, I'll take a look online too. I'll be filming again in a while, so I don't have much time.”

After talking, the two hung up. She hurriedly checked the news of the Morgan Family on the Internet, but to her surprise, she found nothing. She was a little unconvinced, so she searched more carefully, but she still did not find any news regarding the Morgan Family. As she hesitated, she began to wonder whether the information from Sean hadn’t been released yet.

After all, the lawyer and Sean had to meet and the will had to be announced before the paparazzi would even be able to get their hands on the news. As such, there would be a time delay in between.

Holding the phone, Cindy hesitated for a while, then called Aurora. Her line was surprisingly busy, so Cindy hung up and waited for a while before her call came in.

Since Aurora's voice carried an indescribable excitement, Cindy vaguely guessed what was going on before saying, “The Morgan Family will announce their will today. I wonder if they will contact you.”

Aurora laughed. “You're right. They just called me.”

Hearing that, Cindy asked tentatively, “Was it Sean?”

“No.” Aurora's tone was smug. “It was Leah.”

Cindy was stunned for a moment before she frowned. “So, is the will beneficial to them?”

Otherwise, Leah was unlikely to call since she would only call to show off anyway.

Aurora chuckled and replied, “No, no, she called me to scold me.”

Leah had no other channels to vent, so after knowing the contents of the will, she was the first to call Aurora to deliver all kinds of foul language. Aurora didn’t know what was going on at first, so it took a long time for her to realize what was going on. Originally, she wanted to scold Leah in return, but when she thought of how pitiful Leah's current situation was, she suddenly felt that it was okay to let Leah vent.

After all, Leah has already reached this point, so if she wasn’t allowed to scold others, Aurora was really afraid that something would happen to her should the woman become depressed.

Cindy breathed a sigh of relief when she heard what Aurora said. “That's good. I'm still wondering whether she received some benefits. If that's the case, the public opinion will be really frightening.”

When Simon came out and slandered Ian before, Sean stood with Ian while Bryce had a good attitude toward Ian in his last days, so the public once regarded them as one front. Thus, they questioned the verity of Simon’s words. Even Bryce didn't back Simon up, which showed how much fallaciousness there was in Simon's words. If Bryce gave Leah a large cut in the distribution of his will, the media would definitely change their viewpoint and point fingers at Ian instead.

A will was a pertinent matter since it represented who a person truly favored. If Bryce had favored Leah, his previous attitude toward Ian would be worth scrutinizing. Whether Bryce really favored Ian or not rested on his own actions and since he had died, his last trump card was his will.
