The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1865

Chapter 1865 The Dazzling Yulia

The flashy sports car was idling for a long time, but no one emerged from it. Cindy kept her gaze fixed in its direction as she commented, “Maybe it belongs to one of those A-list celebrities.”

However, she had only just said this when the car door swung open to reveal that the person stepping out from the vehicle wasn’t an A-list celebrity. She stared at the person for a second before slightly laughing as she mused, “Who would’ve thought?”

The owner of the car was none other than Yulia herself.

I definitely didn’t see that coming, Cindy thought ruefully.

Yulia was dressed a little more casually than she normally would in a leather jacket, fitted pants and motorcycle boots today. In fact, she looked entirely different than the Yulia whom Cindy knew.

Previously, Yulia had always seemed standoffish, but now, she looked cool and suave.

As she always nursed an inferiority complex when it came to Yulia, Cindy now felt worse after seeing her in this attire. She felt almost diminutive, like she couldn’t imagine being in the same room as Yulia.

Panic surged through Cindy. She thought about how happy she had been when she found out that Ian had rejected Yulia, but a man would now need superhuman efforts to reject Yulia, who looked stunning and irresistible.

If I were a man, I’d probably grovel at Yulia’s feet the moment she walks into the room, Cindy thought grimly. Yulia naturally had her flaws, but that didn’t take away her shine, and as of now, she was dazzling.

Cindy watched as Yulia entered the set, and a frown etched itself upon her face as she grumbled, “What is she doing here?”

The driver knew Yulia as well from the fiasco that she had had with Ian, but he had no idea of how deep the roots of their conflict went. Presently, he stared after Yulia’s retreating figure and said admirably, “Man, she looks like a cool lady. I don’t know what kind of guy will be good enough for her. Oh, speaking of which, I remember her having a bit of a love affair with Ian previously.”

Cindy licked her lips before she lowered her voice as she ground out, “Yeah, but that was chalked up to be a false rumor.”

Humming in response, the driver added thoughtfully, “A rumor like that could make a man really happy.”

She turned to look at the driver curiously. “Why’s that?”

He chuckled and explained, “Well, we’re talking about Yulia here. There are plenty of men who are waiting to become her rumored boyfriend, but none of them could get close enough to even be affiliated with her name.”

Cindy retracted her gaze and muttered unhappily, “You don’t say.”

After a brief moment of thought, the driver said, “Yulia may have a bad rap, but a lot of people still talk about her. She’s a woman who has looks, power and talent. True, she may have a wild side, but she does have the capital to make a name for herself. You know how people can be; they say crap about her, but they secretly want to be associated with her in some way.”

Cindy was still looking out the car window, but Yulia’s silhouette had long since disappeared through the entrance of the set. She hummed in resignation. “You have a point.”

She said nothing more to the driver, immersing instead in her own doubts and theories as she pondered on the reasons why Yulia was here.

Usually, Yulia would be dealing with her work at the magazine, and even if she had cover shoots, the celebrities would head over to her place of business instead of the other way round.

Besides, she had not been carrying any equipment and merely headed into the set on her own, which meant this visit had nothing to do with her work.

At the thought of this, Cindy grew restless and hurtled out of the car before she marched into the set as well.

Upon her arrival, she looked around and found no sign of Yulia.

She checked the time and realized with a frown that Ian would be done filming soon, and this made her wonder whether Yulia was here to see him.

The more she thought about this, the more frustrated she felt. Not wanting to waste another moment, she rushed over to the exit of the set and waited there.

While waiting for Ian, she did not see Yulia at all and it wasn’t until she saw filming wrap for Ian’s set that she let out a sigh of relief.

Ian, on the other hand, could immediately tell that there was something off with Cindy. He didn’t beat around the bush as he walked up to her and caressed her cheek worriedly, “What’s wrong? What’s with the face? Did something happen?”

Ignoring others’ gaze, Cindy reached for his arm and replied, “Nothing. I’m just exhausted from waiting for you here. You took your time coming out.”
