The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 1886

Chapter 1886 An Unpleasant Confrontation

Since the lounge was surrounded by glass walls, Cindy could see what was going on inside the room. At that moment, Yulia was seen sitting on a chair next to two men with a triangular table in the center with some pastries and fruits on it.

Although Cindy had no idea what they were talking about, she was able to notice the smiles on their faces. Standing far away from the lounge, she squinted to take a closer look at the two men whom she reckoned were no ordinary people, since they had the chance to speak with Yulia.

Perhaps they are the executive directors, chief directors, or even producers.

Nonetheless, Cindy quickly put her mind to ease when she saw Yulia minding her own business. Deep down, she couldn’t deny the pressure she felt from Yulia’s presence, even though she wasn’t with Ian. It would appear that Cindy would never put her mind to ease as long as Yulia was in Ian’s vicinity.

After staring at them for a few moments, she decided to continue searching the area, only to realize there were many filming crews going about their work on set at the same time. While some could be seen from the outside, the others were blocked by the partitions.

After poking around the set for a few moments, Cindy still had no luck finding Ian, so she decided to stand in the corner and reached for her cell phone to text Ian about her arrival and tell him to call her when he was done. However, she didn’t receive any reply from Ian, whom she believed was occupied.

Thus, she stood in place and continued to wait before she put away her phone and wandered off aimlessly, still wanting to try her luck in finding Ian. Not long after that, she heard someone calling her, whereupon she stopped in her tracks as she was able to guess who was calling out to her.

Soon, that person called out to Cindy one more time. “Hello, Miss Selby. What a small world!”

Cindy slowly turned around and gazed at Yulia, pretending as if she didn’t know Yulia was there. “Yeah, it’s a small world indeed. I didn’t expect to run into you here after all.”

Seemingly alone, Yulia slowly approached Cindy. “I have a friend here whom I promised to visit earlier.”

Nonetheless, Cindy responded with silence because she had nothing to say to Yulia at all. In the meantime, Yulia pondered at the sight of the crowd around them and said, “Ian probably won’t be done anytime soon. So, let’s find a place to sit down and talk, perhaps.”

Hmm. It looks like she knows Ian’s schedule like the back of her hand. Cindy tried hard not to reveal her feelings deep down, only replying with an affirmative hum. After all, she refused to back down from Yulia despite her fear for her.

Soon, Yulia steered Yulia around the set and took her to another lounge, which suggested the possibility that she knew the place well. At that time, the lounge happened to be empty with only one glass wall, so privacy became less of a concern to Cindy.

When Yulia took Cindy into the lounge, they were greeted by two chairs, which the former reckoned were just what they needed. Then, Yulia sat down and smiled at Cindy. “Have a seat.”

Thinking Yulia was behaving as if she was the host of the place, Yulia didn’t feel happy about it, but nonetheless, she chose to hide her feelings and sat down in the chair.

“You’ve been together with Ian for a few years, haven’t you?” Yulia asked.

Cindy was confused yet wary about what Yulia was trying to ask, so she decided to stare at her in silence.

“Actually, I have known Ian for a long time too, but I doubt he recognizes me.” Yulia chuckled.

Cindy raised her eyebrows in surprise. “You guys have known each other for a long time?” Who is Yulia? How did she get to know someone like Ian, who is a big shot in the entertainment industry?

Yulia leaned back in her chair and crossed her legs, appearing relaxed and unconcerned. “I met him once back then when I was on an expedition to do some cultural research.” Yulia was seen smiling when she mentioned that matter, but Cindy reckoned the former’s feelings for Ian were more than just acquaintances or friends because she believed she was trying to reveal her true nature to her.

On the other hand, Yulia wasn’t expecting a reply from Cindy, so she said, “Actually, both of us had a word with each other at that time, but that has probably slipped his mind by now.”
