If they were on their own, Ian wouldn’t have been able to stop himself from rushing up and kissing Cindy.
However, seeing as there were plenty of people walking around on set, he settled for caressing her face as he took the seat next to hers. “I have a few more lines, but if I could just stop messing them up, maybe we could all go home sooner.”
Cindy was not at all anxious. “Hey, just take it easy and don’t worry about me. I won’t be looking at you, so you can do whatever you want, even if it means improvising.”
He draped an arm around her shoulder and pulled her close. “Well, I might feel a little torn if you sat and watched.”
She understood what he meant and nuzzled into him. Considering that there were others walking around them, they did not go overboard with their displays of affection.
She asked him if he had taken his breakfast, and as it turned out, he had only a piece of bread and nothing more. He never liked hotel food anyway, and Cindy knew this well.
As such, she took the containers out and showed him the dishes. “Here, I whipped these up this morning. Why don’t you share it with the driver?”
The driver was admittedly surprised to hear that she had made his share as well, and he exclaimed next to them, “Aren’t you just an angel? Ian, you’d better make an honest woman out of her as soon as possible, or someone else might sweep in and take her from you!”
Ian hummed heartily as he said, “If someone else does take her away from me, I’d be devastated.”
Cindy knew that they were only joking, but she still smiled indulgently as she interjected, “Don’t worry. I’m usually very loyal, so I won’t be easily swayed by others.”
Just as they were talking, someone from affairs management came over and asked to speak with Ian.
Upon hearing this, Ian set his containers down and rose to follow the person, only to return after a few minutes. As it turned out, the crew wanted to use him and Cindy to create a buzz around the show, and they wanted to take a photo of them together so they could post it on their social media accounts.
The crew would rather be the ones to release these photos than have the press get all the credit for creating a buzz. After all, it wasn’t as if anyone would be disinterested in anything that had to do with Cindy and Ian.
Naturally, Cindy had no objections; this was one of the reasons why she had shown up here in the first place, to become Ian’s very own publicity tool.
It didn’t take long before the crew sent a photographer over. Cindy and Ian were sitting close together as they exchanged funny stories, and after taking several candid shots of them, the photographer asked that they act more intimate.
Had this been a time when their relationship was not official, Cindy would have been very awkward indeed. However, she was immune to such requests, and Ian seemed to possess lightning reflexes as he snaked an arm around her shoulders and pressed his lips close to her ear, whispering something to her.
At first, a trace of a shy smile played on Cindy’s lips, and being an avid fan of such subtle signs of affection, the photographer took a series of shots, then thanked them before leaving.
In actual fact, Ian did whisper something to her that made her pinch his waist, muttering, “Can you please watch your language? There are people here.”
He kissed her earlobe and whispered, “There’s nothing to be shy about. It’s not as if anyone heard us.”
Just because no one could hear us, it doesn’t mean that you can just act all roguish with me, Cindy thought darkly.
Following this, he quickly finished his meal and headed back on set for filming.
Cindy, on the other hand, sat by the side, noting with relief how the crew members were treating Ian with kindness. After all, with his rising fame, the crew needed to appease him all the time if they wanted the show to go on.
It was hard to deny sometimes that fame translated into power in the industry, particularly at this time and age.
Then again, there was no telling if the crew were easy on Ian because of Cindy’s presence or if Ian was more grounded now that she was around to watch him work. However, one thing was for sure: the filming that followed had gone so smoothly that it wrapped earlier than expected, and this was so even though Ian did stumble over his lines once or twice.
When lunchtime rolled around, the crew members took a break and began to dig into their meals, while Ian ferried Cindy away to the hotel he had stayed in the night before.
The hotel wasn’t too far away from the set, and it didn’t take much time for them to get there.
Given that Ian had already eaten the dishes Cindy made for him, his engine was already filled up. Now that they were both in the quiet confines of the hotel room, it went without saying that they immediately indulged in what young couples normally did behind closed doors.
