Ian had easily understood Sean, but he found Sean's words hard to believe. "Logan disfigured Leah's face?" he repeated incredulously.
"Both her cheeks were slashed with a knife. It is the kind of injury that will leave scars even after it is healed." Sean sounded like he found it comical.
It was one thing for a matured woman like Leah to get plastic surgery done. However, it was an entirely different situation if there were visible scars on her face.
Ian could only open and shut his mouth in silence at that. He didn't think Logan went overboard. It was just that he finally understood what Logan said yesterday about him reminding Leah of the attack every time she looked into a mirror.
He eventually let out an agreeable hum and admitted, "I didn't think Logan would do so much to her either. I thought that a little pain and scare would be sufficient to make Leah back off."
Sean had thought so, too. Leah wasn't actually a truly evil person as her only fault was that she was someone who naturally made people hate her.
The issue would have been done with just a small beating enough to scare her off.
He hadn't thought that Logan would actually leave physical and emotional scars on the woman.
Ruining a woman's face was equivalent to ruining her whole life, but since it was Leah that they were talking about, they could sympathize with Logan's actions. Leah needed to be taught a lesson.
It could have been worse if she had gone out and angered someone even more brutal than Logan.
Ian paused for a second before asking, "Did she make a big scene out of it? Did anything else happen?"
"It was kept under wraps. I heard that the hospital had involved the police, but they couldn't do much because Leah refused to tell them anything. She told them that she caused her own injuries. The police and doctors could only leave it at that."
Ian felt a lot more relieved after hearing Sean's words. "Logan can be rough around the edges, but I'm sure there won't be an issue anymore. He probably doesn't want to catch anyone's attention, anyway."
Since there were eyes at home constantly watching Logan's every action, he had to keep himself on the down low to avoid Officer Lola Hunt from coming after him.
Sean laughed out loud after he understood what Ian was implying at. "This is why it can be great to be alone sometimes," he gushed. "I can do anything I want without anyone stopping me. I can even hurt anyone I want if they annoy me."
Ian didn't verbally disagree with Sean's words even though he didn't think the same. Everyone had their own ways of living life, and it seemed that Sean had decided being alone was the best thing to do. There was no point in telling him otherwise, then.
They continued with their idle talk for a little longer before they eventually hung up, whereupon Ian immediately called Logan.
Logan was with Officer Lola Hunt when he took the call with a silly laugh. "Is something the matter? Is there another dinner engagement today?" he asked.
Not wanting to answer Logan or tell him the purpose of his call, Ian responded, "Where are you now? Are you home?"
"Yeah," Logan hummed. "Of course I'm home with my wife. What is up? Are you asking me out?"
Ian said no, and his voice seemed to falter a little after that. "I am only calling you to ask what you are doing."
Logan instantly recognized his tone before he quickly stood up and talked in a loud manner for Lola to hear. "Oh, you are talking about this, huh? Give me a second. I'll go and check it out."
He then went out of the room. After making sure that the bedroom door had been closed properly, he spoke again, "Are you calling to ask me about that b*tch from the Zimmerman Family?"
"I just found out what you did yesterday." Ian sighed.
Logan then let out a chuckle and clarified, "Think I went too far?"
"Of course not," Ian humorously replied. "I called you to thank you for getting at her on my behalf. You have already shown her mercy by not doing more."
Upon hearing his words, Logan felt a sense of pride swell. "I really did hold back from completely crushing her. I even applied anesthetic cream on her face before I sliced her. Don't you think I was good to her? I have never done this for anyone else."

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
