The Returning EX (John and Sophia) novel Chapter 2091

Chapter 2091 New Girl

As Ian was surprised by her offer, he lifted his chin and looked at Cindy for a minute before a smile bloomed on his face. "Sounds good! Let's go together, then."

And so, the two of them went and got dressed before they headed out together.

They soon arrived at the company where they noticed that a lot of people had gathered and idling in the corridors.

Ian went to what used to be his lounge room and sat down before giving Hannah a call.

In response, she told him that she was heading over thereafter and that he should wait for a bit.

Since there weren't a lot of people in the room, the couple didn't bother to hold back and glued themselves to each other while sitting side-by-side.

"Does this mean that the rumors surrounding Valerie are true since her company hasn't released any statement to deny it?" Cindy couldn't help but ask about Valerie again.

He pulled her hand and gently massaged her finger. "Or they could be dealing with it on the down-low. I don't really know, but I doubt it will affect her much, be it if it is true or false. It is normal for a woman her age to be in a relationship."

She nodded after hearing his words. "Also, her fans don't seem to be stopping her from dating. They only hope that she has higher standards when choosing a partner."

Valerie's scandal had been all the noise as of late ever since her romantic life was exposed to the public. Naturally, her fans would be unhappy about it, but what they were most dissatisfied about was the actor's identity and the fact that she was involved with a small-time actor who was not on the same level as her.

A lot of fans even speculated that the actor was trying to ride on Valerie's coattails.

These fans didn't seem to be against the idea of seeing their idol dating. On top of that, they might even feel happy for her if she had found a man of better caliber.

"It is hard to see fans like this." Ian sighed, which caused the corners of Cindy's lips to turn upward.

Then, Cindy mused, "Your current fans aren't half bad either."

A lot of Ian's fans had started to accept a change in his marital status unlike in the past. Even though they were forced to do so because they had no other choice, their acceptance marked a good start.

He didn't say anything more after hearing her words, but there was a smile on his face instead. They waited for a little longer before Hannah finally came to the room.

She must have been surprised to see Cindy with Ian as she did a double take after her gaze fell on Cindy. "You are here, Cindy. How has work been?" she asked as a chuckle left her lips.

Cindy also laughed as she replied, "It's been okay. Every day has been a productive day for me."

"That is how 9-5 jobs usually are." Hannah nodded and continued, "You may not get as much freedom, but you will definitely get your well-deserved rest."

It was like what Hannah had said. Although Cindy was tied to a fixed schedule, she was now more disciplined in her life than ever before.

Their conversation didn't continue for long, as Hannah soon invited Ian to head over to the meeting room while leaving Cindy to wait alone in the lounge room. She then took out her phone to continue reading the news about Valerie.

A while later, the door to the room was suddenly pushed open.

As she habitually looked up at the person who opened the door, Cindy immediately determined that she didn't recognize the woman.

The woman was just as shocked to see Cindy there, but it didn't stop her from bringing her assistant into the room.

Some of these lounge rooms in the company were public areas that anyone could use and Cindy guessed that permission was given for others to use Ian's lounge room due to him being frequently away from the company.

She turned her gaze away from the unfamiliar woman and continued to look at her phone.

Even though Cindy hadn't worked for the company for long, she still had a general idea of everyone who worked there. However, the woman who barged in was definitely an unfamiliar face that Cindy had never seen before.

The company had probably recruited talents for the new talent show they were preparing for.

The woman pulled a chair out from below the table and sat down before peeking at the mirror beside and thereafter turning her gaze on Cindy.

Cindy looked up at the woman as she felt a gaze on her. "Is there something wrong?" she asked.

"You must be Ian Morgan's girlfriend, Cindy Selby, right?" The woman bashfully laughed after she was busted.

"That is right." Cindy nodded.

The woman seemed to be thinking about something before she spoke again. "Does this mean that Ian is here?"

Thinking that the woman was probably one of Ian's fans, Cindy turned and threw a glance at the door. "He is here on business," she replied, "but it will probably take a while before he comes back. Why don't you wait for a bit if you have the time?"
