Cindy turned around to glance at her. "Don't drink so much next time. You're a woman, so they won't tell you to chug everything down. Just drink a little for show and you'll be fine."
Aurora nodded and looked at the vegetables that Cindy was preparing to fry.
Perhaps because her hangover still lingered, she couldn't work up the appetite even at the sight of food.
However, she hadn't eaten much during the last night's appointment. Moreover, she hadn't eaten anything since she was in a rush to leave earlier, and she still didn't eat after coming back because she was too lethargic. Her stomach was still empty now, so she would have to consume something. Otherwise, her health would collapse.
Aurora waited for the soup to cool down before she drank it all in one go.
After a while, Cindy asked about Aurora's work arrangements and wondered if she'd be filming like Ian.
Aurora shook her head. "It's not my turn yet. I asked Hannah yesterday, and she said I would be acting a bit later. It's fine, I'll just wait for the news. After all, they will inform me when my turn comes."
Aurora had really changed after signing the contract. She had more confidence with work now, and she looked more secure and at ease.
The two had a relaxed dinner. Because of Aurora's tiny appetite, she stopped eating after a few bites, but she remained seated at the table nonetheless.
She asked about Cindy's work, whereas the latter thought for a while before answering, "I'm doing fine. I'm progressing further than I first imagined."
Aurora nodded. "You said you only come home to eat and sleep, and most of your time is spent working at the company. If your work environment is terrible, your mood will be greatly affected as well."
It was true, and Cindy knew that as well. If her work environment was great, her entire attitude toward life would become better. If her mood was affected because her work environment was terrible, she would start to feel depressed.
Save for eating and sleeping, the eight hours of work really took up a large percentage of her life. If she couldn't be happy during those long hours, she couldn't find any reason to be too optimistic about life in general.
Cindy's appetite today was quite good, and she ate a lot.
Aurora was satisfied when she saw Cindy's expression. "I used to wonder what sort of girl Ian would marry. After he got into the entertainment industry, I thought he would have a lot of trouble in this department. I'm not saying that he's irresponsible, but under those circumstances, any normal person would find it hard to resist."
When she heard that Ian was dating his assistant and that they had been together for a few years, she hadn't been too happy about it.
From the get-go, it wasn't because of Cindy's background. Instead, Aurora knew that Ian would encounter lots of outstanding people in the future due to his background and identity, so she assumed that he would break up with Cindy sooner or later.
She didn't want Ian to waste too much time on relationships like her, for it had used up all her time.
She didn't want Ian to waste too much time on relationships like her, for it had used up all her time.
If Ian dated someone of a similar background and position, he might've been able to settle down.
She thought that Ian was just fooling around with Cindy, so she wanted them to break up as soon as possible.
However, she didn't expect that the two would stay together until the very end, and they even got married and were a legally married couple now.
Life really didn't make much sense. Aurora used to have quite the standing in the entertainment industry, but the Morgan Family never accepted her.
Now, Ian chose to follow his heart and found a simple yet realistic girl; it wasn't too bad.
When she heard Aurora say that, Cindy agreed. "To be honest, I never thought that I would find a boyfriend in the entertainment industry. I'm not super pretty, and I don't have much of a backing. When I was in the entertainment industry, I could see people who were better than me everywhere I looked. I just wanted to earn some money and go back to the good old days."
Cindy smiled upon finishing her sentence. "I even thought of quitting at that time, but in the end, I still stayed with Ian."
She did think of quitting her job, but when something came up on Ian's side, she took a flight to see him. Ever since then, their relationship changed.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Returning EX (John and Sophia)
So what happens to Ian and Cindy. Is she/ or does she get pregnant? Do they go back to the city and Ian works with Logan? Does Aurora stay in the entertainment industry or return with Ian? Terrible ending, who cares if Aurora was drinking/drunk with colleagues. What happened with Ian and Cindy?!...
Get rid of Gary. Apparently Cindy is too dumb to figure out his motives 😡...
Why are you trying to break them up when they just got together and are a loving couple. Let them stay close and move back to their true friends, Logan, Lola, John and Sophia!...
Sure hope Ian pulls his head out of his behind and works this out with Cindy. His brother needs him at the company and neither one of them truly like the celebrity life. Sophia and Lola will love her …....
I can’t wait for John to take down the Bailey’s including Isabelle so he, Sophia, William and Matilda can live in peace. Introduce Yolanda to Richard so they are out of the picture....
Ugh, don’t break up Sophia and John… they belong together and Sophia is just stubborn for no reason...
Sophia lives John, he just needs to tell her he loves her and get on with their life and family. Too much interference from others....
Sophia is so stupid....
John needs to man up, tell his mother and Isabelle to take a flying leap and confess to Sophia that he made a horrible mistake in divorcing her. This story is taking too long and once again, the bitches are looking like they are on the right side. Awful...
