Chapter 1123 

Kai noticed Lana, who had started walking away, stopped, standing in 

front of him. He asked, “Is there anything else you want to say?” 

Lana looked troubled as she shook her head, “It’s nothing.” 

Lana actually wanted to tell him that she always dreamed of someone, a person she felt very familiar with, and she would feel very sad every time. She had been dreaming about this man for a long time, and she did not know why this was happening to her. 

However, she had been keeping this matter to herself and decided not 

to tell Kai. She did not want him to worry. 

Lana thought it might be due to her impending labor, or maybe she 

was just overthinking things.. 

A few days later, Madelyn went downstairs for a walk under the sun with bodyguards protecting her. 

She was recovering well, and she would be ready to leave the hospital 

in two days. 

Madelyn did not like staying in the hospital. She felt that recuperating at home or elsewhere, it was all the same. 

A bodyguard said, “Mrs. Jardin, Mr. Jardin has some matters to attend to and has to leave the hospital for a while. He’ll be back in 

about an hour.” 

Madelyn replied, “You don’t need to tell me things like where he goes, what he does, and when he comes back.”

The bodyguard quietly stepped back without responding, standing behind her. 

Madelyn looked at the two swans in the artificial lake. The gentle breeze caused ripples on the water’s surface. The sunlight was very warm today. She felt warm being shone on by the sunlight-the 

temperature was just right. This kind of weather was rare in 

Ventropolis. 

Time passed very quickly; five years had passed since she left. 

Not far away, a person wrapped up tightly in her clothes sat in a wheelchair. The caregiver behind her suddenly left. 

Madelyn did not care too much about it. After a while, she stood up 

and left, with the bodyguards following her closely as usual. 

She went back to her ward, had lunch, and took a nap. Zach still had 

not returned after she woke up. 

Madelyn believed he had probably gone to look for Cecilia. 

For the past few days, Zach’s phone had been receiving messages all 

the time. He also received many calls, but he never picked them up. 

Despite that, Madelyn knew very well who had been calling Zach. 

In the evening, when Madelyn was having dinner, she found a note 

under her plate. 

The note stated: [If you want to know about news regarding my brother, come to this place to see me.] Yvonne’s name was written
