Blake could not refute what Cecilia said at all. She could not even 

utter a word. Cecilia continued to press on her, saying, “Blake, 

Madelyn isn’t that great. How about managing the company with me? 

I’m the CEO, and you’ll be the Deputy CEO. Jardin Corporation belongs 

to us.’

Seeing that she was still so stubborn, Blake shook off her hand and 

said harshly, “Don’t try to brainwash me and tempt me with these 

pretty words. I know what you’re up to. I just came here today to see 

if you’re dead.” 

The bodyguard brought in the washed fruits and placed them on the 

bedside table next to Blake. 

Blake stood up without looking at Cecilia. She was lost in her 

thoughts, ‘What did I actually expect? That she’d change? Her greed 

will only gradually become more uncontrollable. She seems to have 

lost her mind and wants to hurt Madelyn.’ 

She said, “I thought I could persuade you, but you’re beyond help. 

Keep your fruits to yourself; I’m worried they’re poisoned.” 

Cecilia shouted, “Blake!” 

Blake ignored her and angrily left. In the ward, Cecilia suddenly got 

out of bed. The pain and weakness in her legs caused her to fall. The bodyguard nearby helped her up, “Be careful, Ms. Samford.” 

“You useless piece of garbage. You can’t even keep her around. What 

good are you?” Cecilia slapped the bodyguard hard.

suppressed her emotions. 

After Blake walked out of the hospital, Liam was already waiting at 

the entrance. She opened the front passenger seat door. Liam asked, ” 

What’s wrong? Things didn’t go well?” 

She replied, “Let’s go back. I don’t want to talk about it.” 

Liam saw that Blake was in a bad mood and did not ask about it 

further. Instead, he tried to comfort her. “Blake, why haven’t you 

agreed to marry me? Is it because you’re still concerned about Mr. 

Jardin’s wife? 

“I’ve already had people look for her. When we find her, my people will 

protect her secretly. Rest assured, nothing unexpected will happen.” 

Blake frowned at him and raised her voice, “What did you say? You 

sent people to find Madelyn? But no one knows her whereabouts 

except for Cecilia! 

“Didn’t I tell you that after sorting out the matter with Cecilia, Kai will 

be able to find Madelyn? Won’t what you do alert Cecilia? What if she 

finds out about it? Wouldn’t it put Madelyn in a more dangerous 

situation?” 

Looking at the road ahead, Liam focused on driving. He instinctively 

said, “It won’t.” 

Blake squinted, “How do you know it won’t? Do you know something?”
