The Second Life of a Discarded Heiress novel Chapter 730

“Let’s try the deep end,” Citrine suggested.

Sebastian didn’t hesitate. “Sounds good,” he replied, following her lead.

They made their way over, and even after Sebastian let go of the rope, he stayed perfectly steady in the water. Seeing this, Citrine gradually relaxed, her worries about him slipping away.

The two of them played in the water for over an hour before finally heading back to the beach.

By the time they reached the shore, both of them were soaked from head to toe. Sebastian grabbed a towel and handed it to Citrine first. “Here, dry off,” he said.

She took the towel and was about to dry her hair when, right in front of her, Sebastian suddenly pulled off his shirt.

Citrine immediately threw a hand over her eyes. “Why are you taking your shirt off?”

Sebastian turned, finally catching sight of the faint blush at the tips of her ears. He couldn’t help but laugh softly. “It’s soaked. It’s uncomfortable to keep it on.”

Realizing she’d overreacted, Citrine lowered her hand and said nothing more.

Once her hair was dry, they headed back to the hotel together.

After washing up, Citrine stretched out on the big bed to rest. She had just started to doze off when someone knocked at her door that afternoon.

She opened it to find Sebastian waiting in the hallway.

He spoke gently, “Dinner in a bit—want to go together?”

Citrine agreed without thinking. “Sure, let me just change.”

After he left, she switched into a fresh outfit and tidied up before leaving her room.

As they walked toward the restaurant, they ran into a group of young colleagues from the company. Citrine waved. “Want to join us for dinner?”

The group lit up, ready to say yes—until something seemed to dawn on them. Their gazes darted to Sebastian at Citrine’s side. Suddenly, they waved their hands, backing away. “No, no, that’s all right, Chairwoman, Mr. Vesper. We wouldn’t want to intrude. Have a great time!”

With that, they made a hasty retreat.

Chapter 730 3

“All right, all right, I’ll stop. Just... don’t be mad, okay?” His voice was soft, almost pleading.

He hadn’t seen her in so long. Lately, it felt like she haunted his dreams almost every night.

Someone once said that dreaming of a person means they’re starting to forget you.

No. He refused to be forgotten.
