Hendrix left, and he didn’t show up at Serene Street for a few days after that night. 

Noelle thought she had really angered him this time. So, were things really over for them now?

Dan did not expect her to ask him such a question. He was stunned, and then he chuckled. “Don’t worry. Mr. Freeman will be very happy when he sees you. 

“So, this means he isn’t in a good mood today.” Noelle got the answer she wanted, 

This made Dan speechless, as he didn’t know how to answer that. After a brief pause, he just gave her an awkward 

smile. 

By now, they had already reached the door, and Noelle could no longer avoid it. After murmuring a quick thank you to Dan, she pushed the door open and walked in. 

Hendrix was seated in his office chair, speaking on the phone. 

He was speaking in rapid Edalanese, his tone sharp and intense, peppered with technical terms Noelle couldn’t understand. It sounded like he might be scolding someone, but oddly, he seemed to be in a good mood. 

However, the slight curl of his lips vanished the moment he caught sight of her. Then, he said a few more words before hanging up. 

“What brings you here?” he asked with a hint of dissatisfaction. 

It was a reaction Noelle had grown used to from him. So, she didn’t respond, simply placing the food container on the table nearby.
