Noelle returned to Nivis Villa and found that endrix had already come back. There was an open suitcase at his feet, and he was flipping through some materials. When he heard the sound, he raised his head first.
Their eyes met, and for a moment, Noelle wasn’t sure what to say.
Just as she was about to look away, Hendrix suddenly spoke up, “I’m going on a business trip.”
“Oh.”
“Mondivera for at least a week.”
“Got it.”
Her response was brief. Or perhaps it could be called… dismissive.
Hendrix noticed it, of course. But he didn’t get angry. After brief pause, he asked, “Do you want to come with me?”
His question caught Noelle off guard, and she instinctively wanted to refuse.
However, it seemed like Hendrix had anticipated her answer. He decisively made the decision for her. “You’re coming with me.”
“I’m not going.”
“You don’t have a choice.”
“Why? Are you going to tie me to the plane?”
“Because you’re my wife on paper.” As Hendrix spoke, he tossed the materials into the suitcase and began adding a few of Noelle’s clothes as well.
Noelle wasn’t willing to engage with him and turned to walk away.
But Hendrix’s voice stopped her again. “Don’t think that just because I don’t expose Dylan, everything’s fine. I know he’s been planning to immigrate recently.
“Let me be honest with you. People have already started tracing his steps. The timing of his immigration plan is too coincidental. They won’t let him leave that easily.”
His words made Noelle freeze in her tracks, her eyes shooting back at him.
“What do you mean? You promised you wouldn’t make things difficult for him again!”
“Yes. I did promise that, but that doesn’t mean I will help hem. And I’m a legal citizen. If someone comes asking about me, what should I say? After all, it’s not like I’m the one who exposed him. But if I choose to hide things, doesn’t that make me an accomplice?” Hendrix spoke with an innocent look in his eyes.
The way he looked at Noelle was like he was genuinely asing her this question.
Noelle clenched her jaw and said, “Hendrix, what else can you do apart from threatening me?”
“If you obey me, I wouldn’t want to threaten you, too,” he said.
Noelle laughed coldly. “Why should I listen to you?”
“You can still choose to refuse me now,” Hendrix said.

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
