“I also bought an engagement ring for the wedding,” he said and added, “But for everyday wear, this one should be fine. I should’ve given it to you on the day we registered our marriage, but the custom design took some time.” Noelle didn’t even ask him to explain. But she did not cut him off. In the end, she just nodded in response. Hendrix had originally been worried that Noelle would reject the ring, but when he saw that she didn’t take it off, he immediately relaxed, and a smile involuntarily spread across his lips.
However, the next moment, Noelle spoke up, “Is what you said earlier true?”
“What?”
“Did someone really find out about Dylan? What’s going to happen to him?”
She had this uncanny ability to completely destroy the little bit of joy he had managed to feel.
But Noelle seemed oblivious to her impact. She kept her gaze down and continued, “I’ve never really believed that Dylan would do such a thing.
“So, he must just be an accomplice, right? It must have been his grandfather, or perhaps other family members, who forced him into doing this. Am I right?”
She fell silent after that.
It took a while for Hendrix to realize she was asking him. He steered coldly. “How would I know? What does it have to do with me? And why do you assume he’s not that kind of person?”
Noelle fell silent again.
Hendrix immediately regretted saying the last part, but he quickly recovered and said, “No matter whether he acted willingly or under duress, the result is the same. He has crossed a line, and once your hands are dirty, they’re dirty. You don’t need to make excuses or look for reasons for him!”

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
