She knew that her answer would not satisfy him, as he frowned even deeper and said, “This is not back home. Don’t you know it’s dangerous to go out alone?”

But after a moment of hesitation, Noelle did not retort back and just nodded in response.
This reaction kind of surprised Hendrix a little.
“Did you need something? Why are you back?” Noelle asked
Hendrix pulled himself back together and gave her a strange look. “I’m here to bring you to meet someone.”
“A party?”
“Yeah, a friend of mine is hosting one.”
Noelle’s gaze darkened, as she didn’t know if his friend was one of his fund partners.
Previously, she even went to his study room to find evidence. Hendrix did not have to bring her to meet his partner’s now, right?
It seemed impossible when Noelle thought about it. But no matter what, she did not plan to reject him. She even asked, “Do I need a gown?”
But maybe she was being too compliant, for Hendrix was shocked.
After staring at her for a while, he said, “No need.”
“Alright. Let me put on some makeup.”
As she spoke, Noelle walked directly toward the bathroom. It was only then that Hendrix noticed the large cutout on the back of her dress.
While packing the suitcase, he had only grabbed clothes randomly and thrown them into the suitcase. He didn’t pay attention to the specific style of the dress at all.

The long dress reached the floor, and while such a color might seem a bit mature on others, it didn’t have that effect on her. On the contrary, the deep shade accentuated her fair skin even more, and with the cut emphasizing her waistline, her figure was perfectly highlighted.
Hendrix stared at her as his gaze deepened. He was unable to stop himself from appreciating the sight before him.

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
