Noelle woke up and found herself in the bed, but this time, her right hand was cuffed to the bed instead. hand was cuffed to the bed instead.
Hendrix, perhaps noticing the red marks on her hand due to the struggle, changed the handcuff into a tie. The expensive tie had turned into a tool to subdue her.
She reached out to remove the tie, but somehow, she only managed to make it tighter. But she didn’t give up. Like crazy, she wouldn’t stop pulling and tugging at the tie.
When she realized that using her hand was ineffective, she started using her teeth to bite off the tie.
Alas, the fabric was of premium quality. It did not give way, even after her skin started to bleed from an accidental
bite.
She pulled with increasing force until her hand rammed against the bed frame.
The maids immediately barged in when they heard the sounds.
Noelle demanded, “I need a pair of scissors!”
The maids did not answer. They stood there in fear.
“How much are you paid? I’ll double the amount of what Hendrix pays you! Give me the scissors now!” Noelle shouted in a shrill voice.
Coupled with her long hair, she looked just like a madwoman.
Right. Hendrix was driving her to the brink of insanity!
Even after all of that, the maids still did not move. They came up to comfort her, “Mrs. Freeman, please calm. down. The doctor said that you should always keep your calin for the sake of your baby.”
Noelle stopped after hearing the advice. Her hand that was tied to the bed frame turned limp.
Head hung low, her lashes trembled, but she had no more tears to shed.
“Where’s Hendrix? I need to talk to him,” she whispered.
“Mr. Freeman is busy today. Just talk to us, and we’ll pass the message.”
Noelle fell silent again, but she didn’t continue her struggle. She lay in bed, looking exhausted, and shut her eyes.
The maids stood there for a while and finally left.
Since they left the door ajar, she could hear them talking to Hendrix over the phone.
“Yes. Mrs. Freeman is awake. She would like to see you… Got it.”
Noelle had no idea what Hendrix had replied, but she didn’task.
After what felt like forever, she heard the sounds of a car pulling in. Soon, Hendrix came up the stairs. His footsteps neared, but he stopped when he was some distance away from her bed.
Although her eyes remained closed, she could sense his gaze on her–like that of a predator eyeing its prey.

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
