Beatrice’s injuries were severe, but fortunately, none were life–threatening. After a few days in the hospital, she was discharged.
This time, however, Hendrix didn’t let her return to Freeman Manor. Instead, he arranged for her to stay in a secluded yet elegant place.
It just so happened to be the end of the month, and Nathan had returned to Coppersville for a work report.
Hendrix reserved a table at a restaurant, calling it a “family reunion dinner“.
The moment Noelle heard the phrase, she had a bad feeling After all, every reunion dinner in the Freeman family had never truly ended well. But since Hendrix had already made the arrangements, she had no choice but to go along.
Winter had officially arrived in Coppersville.
Today’s temperature had dropped a few degrees lower than yesterday. Before they head out, Hendrix thoughtfully wrapped a scarf around Noelle’s neck.
The white scarf matched her coat perfectly, while Hendrix was dressed entirely in black.
Two starkly contrasting colors–yet when they stood together, they somehow looked effortlessly in sync.
Hendrix even took out his phone and snapped a photo of the two of them.
He suddenly remembered something and said to her, “By the way, we’ll be taking out wedding photos in a few days. I’m also getting ready to send out the wedding invitations. Do you have any friends you’d like to invite?”
“No.”
As soon as Noelle answered, Hendrix chuckled. “Talk about sheer coincidence. It wasn’t until I looked into it later that I found out our wedding would be on the same day as Dylan’s.”
Noelle hadn’t thought about Dylan in a long time. Now that Hendrix suddenly mentioned his name, she only responded with a soft “mm“, showing little interest.
Hendrix turned around to look at her but said nothing more
Soon, they arrived at the restaurant. Hendrix took her hand and helped her out of the car.
“Do your best over there. This is your opportunity. Once that project is completed, you’ll return to the company with your own team. That’ll make securing your position much easier.”
Just as they reached the private dining room, Noelle heard Ophelia’s voice.
“And don’t think Hendrix’s position at Amity Group is truly unshakeable. I’m not dead yet, and as long as you play your cards right, you’ll definitely get your chance to topple him.”
Before Noelle could hear Nathan’s response, Hendrix had already pushed the door open.
“What are you talking about?” he asked with a smile. “Grandma, you seem to be in good spirits today.”
Ophelia was about to say something else, but the moment she saw Hendrix, she fell silent.
Hendrix, however, acted as if he hadn’t noticed a thing. With a smile, he simply pulled out a chair and sat down.
“Nathan, you’re here, too. How is it going? Are you getting used to things over in Jinsborough?”

“That’s great. But if you run into any problems, feel free to let me know,” Hendrix replied.
Nathan glanced at Ophelia, who was sitting beside him, before finally giving a small nod.

Like how the story is progressing now but why is the author only releasing 3 chapters at a time? this is torture😩😩...
Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
