Seline didn’t answer, but from this, Noelle instantly knew the truth. 

After a moment of silence, she let out a soft laugh and said, ‘Well, that’s good.” 

“What is?” Seline asked. 

She had initially planned to keep quiet about the meeting with Hendrix. After all, it wasn’t a very kind thing to bring up other’s painful memories, and it was also clear that Noelle didn’t want to dwell on Hendrix. But she couldn’t hold back after seeing Noelle act so “unbothered” 

“Do you know where I ran into him? He was going on a blind date! And he had the nerve to tell me he’s moving on with his life! How can he be so heartless?”

After a while, she nodded firmly and said, “Don’t worry. I’m sure Rosie will get better soon.” 

After what Seline told her, Noelle no longer had to agonize over whether to make that phone call. In a way, she was relieved that Hendrix’s stance had been relayed to her through Seline. 

Because if she had called him herself and had heard those words directly from his mouth, Noelle wasn’t sure she could have remained as calm as she was now. So, in a way, this was for the best. 

She had thought that this would be the end of any connection between her and Hendrix. There would be no reason for them to meet again. But life had a way of throwing the unexpected at one. 

For instance, on her way back from the hospital, Noelle was knocked to the ground by a car that suddenly swerved into her path. 

The driver wasn’t speeding, but he was swearing nonstop. On top of that, it was rush hour, and the already congested road had become a complete mess. 

Noelle wasn’t seriously injured, but the skin of her calf had been scraped off clean, leaving a bloody wound that looked rather alarming. 

The driver was yelling at her, accusing her of staging the accident. 

Noelle, in a hurry to retrieve something, had no interest in arguing with him. She simply propped herself up and stood on her own. 

“What’s your problem? Listen. I’ve already called the police. There are cameras everywhere, and my car has a dashcam. So, don’t even think about scamming me!” 

“I’m not trying to scam you. I’m not seriously hurt anyway, so let’s just leave it at that,” Noelle said calmly.
