Hendrix's words and tone immediately dragged Noelle back to the past. Countless times before, he had forced her to apologize in the same way to Sandra. And now, the same thing was happening to Rosie.
She clenched her hands tightly, but she managed to keep her voice calm. "I've already apologized. What more do you want?"
"But you're the one who did wrong," Hendrix replied expressionlessly.
"I'm her mother, so what's wrong with me apologizing on her behalf?"
"Can you take responsibility for her for the rest of her life?"
"Are you lecturing me on how to be a good mother? I don't need you to teach me that!"
Sensing the growing tension between the two, the woman beside Hendrix couldn't help but have a slight change in expression. She tugged Hendrix's arm and said, "Maybe we should just let it go."
But Hendrix didn't even glance at her. He chuckled coldly and said, "I wouldn't dare lecture you. I'm just teaching your daughter that when she does something wrong, she needs to own up to it."
Noelle stood there, then suddenly laughed. "Oh, is that so? Maybe it's because her father died early, so no one taught her that. Don't worry. I'll make sure to teach her properly in the future."
With that, Noelle turned to leave with Rosie.
But in the next moment, Hendrix grabbed her wrist.
"Noelle, are you cursing me?"
The woman beside him was stunned the moment those words left his lips.
Even Rosie's eyes widened as she looked between Hendrix and Noelle.
"Let go!" Noelle said through gritted teeth.

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
