After Noelle finished speaking, Seline was visibly stunned. Clearly, her mind was struggling to process what Noelle had just said.
After several seconds, she finally asked again, "What did you just say?"
"Hendrix said he doesn't want to go through with the surgery anymore," Noelle repeated in a hoarse voice.
Seline immediately yanked off her headphones. "Has he lost his mind?"
Her voice was sharp, loud enough to wake Rosie, who had been sleeping in the hospital bed.
Rosie blinked sleepily at them. "Mommy…"
Noelle quickly stepped forward and took Rosie's hand. "Did we wake you? I'm sorry."
Rosie looked at her, then at Seline. The latter's face was still flushed with anger.
"Mommy, are you and Seline fighting?" Rosie asked.
"No, we're just discussing something. It's okay. Go back to sleep, Rosie," Noelle replied while gently stroking Rosie's cheek.
Rosie wanted to say more, but Noelle quickly changed the subject. It took a while, but after some coaxing, Rosie eventually drifted back to sleep.
By then, Seline had already calmed down.
"To be honest, I'm not surprised at all," she said. "He's never acted like a father. When you were giving birth, he didn't care at all. Now that Rosie is sick, how many times has he even visited her? The only reason he agreed to the compatibility test was to shut the hospital people up.
"What's the matter? You don't like the plan?" Seline noticed her hesitation.
"I'm just thinking that Rosie will find out about this when she grows up, won't she? How will she feel about her father then?"
"The problem is, Hendrix doesn't even want to do the surgery now! Didn't you say you'd do anything to keep Rosie alive? Why are you hesitating now? Don't tell me you're going soft on him?"
Noelle shook her head. "I'm just afraid that even if we do this, Hendrix still won't change his mind. You know how much negative press and slander he's faced over the years. And given his current status in Coppersville, your news might not even get out."
After Noelle finished speaking, Seline fell silent.
"Then, what do we do?" she finally asked. "Are we really supposed to wait for news from the bone marrow registry? You know this is Rosie's best chance for treatment, right?"

The readers' comments on the novel: The Sway and Slide of Love
Like how the story is progressing now but why is the author only releasing 3 chapters at a time? this is torture😩😩...
Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
