Noelle fell silent. What Seline knew, she knew, too. In fact, she understood it a hundred times more clearly than Seline did.
But right now, her mind was completely blank. She knew Hendrix hated her. Whatever he wanted to do to her, Noelle didn't care. Yet, he chose to do nothing. And precisely because he did nothing, he had her completely at his mercy.
Noelle knew he was doing this on purpose. Playing with people's emotions and manipulating everyone like puppets were things he excelled at and enjoyed.
So, he also knew exactly what would hurt Noelle the most. This time, his strike was precise and devastating.
Seline was still talking beside her, but Noelle could no longer hear her. She just stared blankly at Rosie lying in the bed.
Rosie was still so young. Her warmth and vitality were still thrumming. But now, it felt like Noelle could only watch helplessly as Rosie slowly moved toward decline.
"Noelle? Noelle!" Seline called out to her, gripping her shoulder.
But Noelle couldn't respond. She could already feel a vast darkness quickly swallowing her whole.
…
Noelle felt like she had been walking for a long time. She didn't know where she was or where she was going.
Everything in front of her was shrouded in fog, and she was utterly exhausted. But a voice in her heart told her she couldn't stop—not yet.
The voice also told her that someone was waiting for her ahead. But who? Noelle didn't know.
She heard a faint, weak cry. The sound sent a jolt through Noelle. She immediately turned, trying to find the source of the sound.
But the thick fog in front of her refused to clear. Noelle tried desperately to push it away, but it was futile. She could only run forward like a madwoman.
It was then that she finally recognized the source of the sound. It was crying, calling out, "Mommy…"

Like how the story is progressing now but why is the author only releasing 3 chapters at a time? this is torture😩😩...
Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
