Hendrix's grip on Noelle's arm was tight—so tight that it felt like he was about to crush her bones.
Noelle couldn't help but furrow her brows from the pain. But she didn't make a sound. Instead, she simply looked at him intently.
Then, she said softly, "You know, when Rosie fell ill, the first person I thought of was you. I wanted to call you, but I couldn't muster the courage. Because I knew I had hurt you by leaving, and I didn't know how you felt about me or Rosie.
"Later, Seline told me that you were planning to get married through a matchmaking arrangement and that you knew about Rosie's condition but chose to ignore it—"
"That was a misunderstanding!" Hendrix interrupted her. "When I met Seline back then, I thought she was talking about your work on set. That's why I didn't—"
"I know. But what about after that?" Noelle asked.
A frown slowly appeared on Hendrix's forehead, as if he didn't understand what she meant by "after that".
Noelle curled her lips into a faint smile. "After you learned of the situation, why did you treat me and Roise that way? You knew how much Rosie meant to me. If we had just sat down and talked things through back then, maybe there could have been a chance for us, but you didn't.
"From start to finish, all you thought about was using Rosie to force me into submission. You have no idea how desperate I felt, watching Rosie grow paler by the day while you refused to sign that consent form.

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
