The Sway and Slide of Love novel Chapter 621

"Prepare myself? Why would I need to prepare myself? What are you talking about?" Noelle asked.

"Oh, right. I should give Seline a call. She should be with Rosie—she'll definitely know where Rosie is. Rosie might seem well-behaved most of the time, but don't let that fool you. She can actually be quite mischievous.

"Right after she learned to walk, she loved hiding in all kinds of places around the house. Once, she hid under the bed without me knowing, and I couldn't find her even after searching for a long time. In the end, I had to call the police to find her.

"But good thing she's well-behaved. She knew she had scared me that time, so she never made me worry like that again.

"Her health was never great. She often got sick as a child, and when she had a fever, she wouldn't want anyone but me. So, I had no choice but to hold her through the night.

"I simply held her like that. She was so small in my arms. Even though I was exhausted, I felt so fulfilled because I knew she was my flesh and blood. And to her, I was her whole world. But she didn't know that she was my whole world also. I can't live without her."

Noelle kept talking. As she spoke, she kept scrolling through her phone, looking for Seline's number. She wanted to call her, but her fingers wouldn't stop trembling. In the end, she failed to find Seline's number.

"What's going on?" she asked Hendrix. "I can't find Seline's number. I definitely had it. She's Rosie's godmother. We've always been in touch, so why can't I find it now? Do you—"

Before she could finish, Hendrix suddenly stepped forward and pulled her into his arms. His grip was so tight that it was hard for Noelle to even breathe. But she didn't feel any pain. She just stood there, stunned.
