"So, you didn't manage to smooth things over with Noelle?"
The voice came from beside Hendrix, and he turned to see Beatrice looking at him with a gleeful expression.
Hendrix pressed his lips together, then reminded her, "You're my mother."
"I know that, of course," Beatrice replied. "But that doesn't mean I should throw out all reason and take your side when you're in the wrong."
"Is that so? And here I thought you were enjoying all the drama," Hendrix said calmly.
Beatrice froze for a moment, then laughed. "Not at all. Besides, didn't I create an opportunity for you today?"
Hendrix didn't respond to that. Instead, he shifted his gaze to the mother and daughter in front of him.
Noelle and Rosie were both seated on horseback, with a staff member from the equestrian club leading them in a slow circle.
"Don't worry. They'll be fine," Beatrice said, noticing how tense he was.
Hendrix simply grunted in reply. But it seemed he wasn't entirely focused on the scene before him.
"Did something happen?" Beatrice finally asked, catching on belatedly.
"No," Hendrix replied quickly.
But Beatrice wasn't convinced—a frown slowly appeared on her forehead.
Only then did Hendrix say, "It's nothing serious—just some issues at one of the subsidiary companies."
"Is it going to be difficult to fix?"
"Yes, I need to go there in person."
As he spoke, Hendrix glanced at his watch. "I'll head straight to the airport from here. Let Noelle and Rosie stay with you for the next few days. I'll pick them up when I get back."
Just as Hendrix finished speaking, his phone rang—it was his secretary, urging him to hurry to the airport.
"Nothing," Noelle replied quickly and withdrew her gaze.
Seeing her reaction, Beatrice couldn't help but smile even more. "He said he had to go on a business trip. He left just moments ago."
"A business trip? Where to?" The question slipped out before Noelle could stop herself.
Beatrice's smile deepened.
Noelle immediately realized she had given herself away. She didn't say anything more. She just bit her lip and looked at Beatrice.
But Beatrice didn't tease her further. "He said there were some issues at one of the subsidiary companies, so he had to go handle it."
"Which subsidiary?"
"Hmm… I actually forgot to ask him that. Why don't you call him and ask him yourself?"

Like how the story is progressing now but why is the author only releasing 3 chapters at a time? this is torture😩😩...
Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
