Chapter 73
Hendrix was mocking Noelle. After all, after giving her all to leave him, she ended up in a place no bigger than a pigeon hole.
Noelle wanted to say something, but he didn’t give her the chance, turning to leave after a curt answer.
At the door, he came to a sudden stop and said, “You should change the lock on your door. The people hanging around here are rather dodgy. It’s for your safety.”
Without waiting for a reply, he continued forward, as stoics he had always been.
Noelle glanced at the door lock and shut the door with a bang; in a swift move.
Hendrix couldn’t help but pause for a split second while going down the staircase, but he didn’t turn back and continued downstairs.
Levi was waiting for him by the side of the road. The luxurious car and number plate immediately attracted quite a few spectators. Nevertheless, they seemed invisible to Hendrix as he climbed into the car expressionlessly.
After closing the door for him, Levi went around to the driver’s seat in the front. He was driving for a while until an electric scooter suddenly appeared in front of him, and both of them almost crashed
With lingering fear, the scooter driver jumped off and kept apologizing.
“Let’s go if everything’s fine,” Hendrix instructed impatiently with a frown. He couldn’t be bothered to waste his time on this.
The next second, Levi said, “Mr. Freeman, isn’t that Ms. Swanson? Where is she going?”
Upon hearing this, Hendrix twirled his head around quickly
Noelle had changed into a simple T–shirt and shorts. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail, and she was driving further and further away with her back to them. Before her figure disappeared, she stopped and walked into a pharmacy at the side of the road.
Hendrix’s fingers balled up a little, and the edges of his lips tightened.
“Mr. Freeman, is Ms. Swanson unwell? Should I-
“Drive,” Hendrix interjected in an icy tone.
Noelle popped the pill right after buying it. She was already familiar with the taste of this white pill. Despite that, the bitterness lingered in her mouth, unable to disperse.
Just when she was about to head home, she heard someone calling from behind.
“Elle.”
Noelle stopped for a moment, but she didn’t turn back and continued walking. Without hesitation, Maxwell marched to her and grabbed her hand.
Noelle frowned. “Let go.”
“I will after I finish speaking,” he said and tightened his grip.
Noelle could feel the pain in her bones, and her frown deepened.

Like how the story is progressing now but why is the author only releasing 3 chapters at a time? this is torture😩😩...
Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
