"His wife? No, this is my wife. We're going to register our marriage today. Her mother has already accepted the wedding gift!" The man's voice grew louder.
Hendrix snapped back to the present. Slowly, he turned to look at Noelle, as if waiting for her to explain. But she wouldn't even meet his gaze.
She didn't seem the least bit happy at seeing him again. Instead, she was trying to pry his fingers off her in a bid to free herself.
"Noelle," Hendrix called her name. "What are you doing?"
But she gave him no response.
Hendrix clenched his teeth, and he was about to pull her closer to question her when Noelle screamed, "Let me go!"
Her sharp voice forced Hendrix to release his grip. Noelle immediately stepped back and hid behind the man.
"See? She doesn't know you at all. So like I said, she's not your wife. I think you're just trying to take advantage of my wife because she's pretty! You might look decent on the surface, but you're nothing but a shameless scumbag!"
The man was furious. He looked as if he might charge forward and fight Hendrix at any moment.
But Hendrix didn't even spare him a glance. He simply kept his eyes fixed on Noelle.
Noelle, however, didn't dare to look at him. She kept her head down, her hands tightly gripping the man's shirt fearfully.
Hendrix stared at her in disbelief.
"Wait. There must be some misunderstanding here," Jerry quickly interjected. Then, he turned to his colleague and said, "I just heard there's an issue with this lady's identity, right? Investigate it immediately, and inform her family to come right away."

Woah chapters 41-45 is intense!! Good to see Noelle’s character who has come across as mostly detached actually express emotion....
I find Noelle’s character so frustrating, she comes across lacking any true emotion. The chapters where Rosie was missing was probably the most where we have seen some strong outward emotion shown. Dreading these next few chapters if she is going to do something drastic to “go find Seline” The author has taken us on a rollercoaster with these characters. The novel feels like it is at a stage now where they can come full circle....
A good change of pace and story in the last 10 chapters. Good to see the shift in Hendrix’s character (more patience) to win over Noelle and Rosie. Hope we start to see them warm up to him. Please no crazy twist where he loses them again. Have enjoyed this story and looking forward to its wrap up👨👩👧...

I have been in love with this novel but I don’t know how much patience I have to wait until the to finish line. Dear Author, can you atleast give us some idea about how long is this going to be or if there’s any turning point coming soon. And it would be great if you could upload at least 10 chapters at once. 5 chapters is making me more impatience with the anticipation of the further story of novel🙈...
I really hope there is a turning point in this story where Noelle starts to show some interest in Hendrix...
