“You’re going to have to get in line, mister,” Clark said as he turned around with a grin on his face. 

Hendrix responded calmly, “I beg to differ. I think the lady gets to choose who she’s dancing with.” 

What he said had Clark stumped. 

Hendrix no longer looked at Clark. Instead, his gaze was fixed on Noelle. His eyes had always displayed calmness, but it seemed like there were some repressed feelings underneath them. 

Noelle’s hands hung by her side, and she couldn’t help but clench her fists. After a brief moment, she suddenly giggled and rested her hand on Clark’s palm. She agreed to dance with him. 

Hendrix’s expression instantly darkened, and he clenched his palm. He intended to look at Noelle again, but she had already turned around with Clark. He gnashed his teeth as he looked at their retreating figures. 

At that moment, Brandon stepped forward and said, “Hi, Mr. Freeman.” 

Hendrix looked at him with a blank face. 

Brandon continued with a smile on his face, “I didn’t think you’d be here tonight. Also, congratulations are in order for your successful business negotiation in Gerlandia 

“Thanks,” Hendrix responded, but his attitude was barely even dismissive. After all, he didn’t so much as turn around and look at Brandon. 

“Did you show up here because of Noelle, Mr. Freeman?” Brandon asked again. 

Only then did Hendrix turn his head sideways and look at Brandon. “What are you trying to say?” 

“Nothing. It’s just that it’s such a shame that you two are divorced. She’s a charming lady, isn’t she?” Brandon’s gaze rested on Noelle once more as he spoke. 

At that moment, she and Clark were already halfway through the dance. They weren’t exactly very intimate, but 

worked together flawlessly. Their steps were so graceful that they turned a lot of heads in the hall.

“What’s the matter? Are you into her or something?” Hendrix asked as he followed Brandon’s gaze and looked 

over. 

“I’m willing to guess that no one would have zero feelings for a lady such as her.”

and make her happy in such a 

condition?” Hendrix retorted.

Brandon could even flash Hendrix a smile. “You truly kept tabs on everything, Mr. Freeman. However, what makes you think you have the right to be saying this? 

“After all, Noelle didn’t seem to be satisfied at all when you two were husband and wife. Why else would she have divorced you?” 

Now, it was Hendrix’s turn to fall silent. It had been a long time since he was stumped. In other words, he very rarely made such pointless bickering. What was more, he did it for the sake of Noelle. It was simply absurd and below him.

“Can I have this dance with you?” The lady wore a black gown and had her hair tied up. She was just staring boldly at him without any signs of ambiguity. 

At first, Hendrix wanted to turn down her offer, but then, something seemed to occur to him. He extended his hand and opened his palm..
