Chapter 199
In Magnolia Palace, Zack paused, massaging his sore fingers with a look of grievance on his face. He said, “I really don’t understand what has gotten into Julius.
After Leo went out for a while, he added them to a group chat and sent them a voting link. He also asked them to vote for Quiana and reminded them they were not allowed to cheat. It was Julius‘ order.
For someone like Julius, who seemed indifferent to the world and cold–hearted, to be voting in a talent show–and dragging all of his close friends along–was surprising.
It was like snow falling in summer, and they were all shocked, feeling as if they had seen a ghost.
Just a while ago, he had said Quiana had nothing to do with him and that they were practically strangers. And now, he was referring to her as “my fiancée.”
Zack could only sighed and commented, “Maybe that’s the power of love!”
Shane gave him a blank look, walked over, and knocked on the master bedroom door.
Inside, Julius sat back in his wheelchair after finishing changing his bandages. He slowly buttoned up his shirt and weakly said, “Come in.”
Shane entered, looking elegant in his golden–rimmed glasses, his expression serious. He informed, “The National Medical Bureau recently- Shane paused, sniffing the air. He frowned and asked, “Are you hurt?”
As a doctor accustomed to working with medicines, he could detect even the faintest hint of medication in the room.
Julius pulled the blanket over his legs and scrolled through his phone, casually saying, “Leo.”
Shane immediately understood what Julius meant, but he remained silent.
Without changing his expression, Julius rubbed his arm and told Shane, “There was a mission last night. I accidentally got injured.
Shane was somewhat skeptical, but he moved closer to Julius and extended his hand, saying, “Let me see your hand.” Julius glanced at him and then extended his wrist, allowing him to check his pulse.
A minute later, Shane released his hand, but his frown deepened. He asked, “While I wasn’t here for the past few days, have you been skipping your medicine?”
Julius looked down, his fingers scrolling through the screen of his phone. A shadow of gloom crossed his eyes as he asked lightly, “What’s going on with the National Medical Bureau?”
Shane then remembered the main reason for his visit, and his expression became serious again. He continued, “The National Medical Bureau recently collaborated with Noah Industries on a new drug, but the latter directly presented a sample called HV–01”
He added, “The analysis indicates that the sample has a 90% similarity in composition to Quiana’s pill.”
Julius, who was purchasing voting rights, paused and looked up. His dark eyes focused intensely as he asked, “Do you have the data?”
Shane promptly provided the data he had with him, as well as a second set on his phone. He explained, “Once Quiana stopped selling under the bridge, some people began selling the pill on the underground market.”
Julius, in the process of purchasing voting rights, paused and glanced up. His dark eyes locked onto Shane with intensity as he asked, “Do you have the data?”

Shane shook his head, his eyebrows furrowed. “It’s just an experimental drug. Even if Noah Industries is powerful, they would never allow an unstable drug to be sold on the market, let alone on the black and underground markets,” he said.
As the leading research institute in Clusia, Noah Industries maintained strict confidentiality regarding the identities of its scientists. They would not allow a new drug to be sold in such unregulated markets.
