Chapter 121
He gripped the edge of the conference table tightly, a cruel smile on his face. “Shakira, there’s no need to provoke me. I’m not falling for your tricks!”
Shakira nodded approvingly. “Mr. Smith, seeing you this calm reassures me as your partner.”
Lago sneered. “Cut the nonsense, what’s your real plan?”
“In that case, let’s make today’s meeting quick and easy,” Shakira spoke up. “Under Mr. Smith’s leadership, the company has faced serious business problems. Now, as the largest shareholder, I have the right to propose a change in management.”
Lago chuckled dismissively and stared at Shakira hatefully. “You’re still inexperienced, yet you think you can run my company? Ridiculous!”
“Even if you bought all the stray shares, so what? I’m the largest shareholder and hold the controlling interest!” Lago declared confidently, sneering at Shakira. “Even if I run this company into the ground, you’ll never get a piece of it!”
“Is that so?” Shakira gestured to the lawyer, who presented the last stock transfer contract.
Lago glanced at it casually, and suddenly, he froze as if struck by lightning. There, in clear black and white was Yvette’s signature,
“H–How can this be possible?” he stuttered, a shiver running down his spine; feeling as if the sky was falling. He thought, ‘I personally gave the shares to Yvette, repeatedly stressing that under no circumstances should she hand them over to anyone else, not even Jessie. Yet now, they had ended up in Shakira’s hands!”
“This is impossible, how could this happen, how could this happen!” Lago never expected that the one to betray him and deliver the final blow would be his own daughter!
Shakira observed Lago’s broken expression and calmly stated, “The scattered shares account for 47%. With Yvette’s additional 5%, I now hold absolute control and can determine the company’s decisions.”
“Now, I announce that Lago is removed from the CEO position, and… you will take over.” Shakira’s slender wrist turned, pointing to the cleaner in the corner, who was awkwardly dealing with the water stains on himself.
The entire conference room was so quiet that even the sound of a pin dropping would have echoed loudly.
The cleaner slowly lifted his head, looking at Shakira in disbelief, gradually realizing what was going on, and stammered, “You mean, I’m the boss?”
Shakira’s eyes swung slightly. “That’s the idea.”
Lago snapped out of his daze, his eyes burning with anger. “Shakira! Are you out of your mind? You’re letting a janitor run my company? You’re aware of how much money you’ve put into this, over 300 thousand dollars!” He thought, ‘I thought Shakira had gone through all the trouble of buying so many shares just to take away my power. But who would have expected she was actually handing my company over to a cleaner?‘ To Lago, this was the ultimate humiliation.
“Since I now own the most shares and have absolute control, you can only blame Mr. Smith for being too greedy and losing his own company,” Shakira said, resting her chin on her hand with a slight smirk that showed a hint of regret. “Losing everything for just over a million dollars seems like quite a deal, don’t you think?:
Lago stood frozen, finally understanding. He thought, ‘Her revenge is to completely ruin my life! The car, the house, the company… she is systematically destroying everything I have.
Lago let out a crazed scream, stepping onto the office chair like a lunatic, then onto the conference table, wobbling as he charged at Shakira like an enraged beast.

Chapter 121
The bodyguards Shakira had brought jumped onto the table too quickly restraining Lago. He was pinned against the table, struggling fiercely, his eyes glaring at Shakira with a fierce hatred as if he wanted to kill her.
“Shakira, I’ll kill you! How dare you destroy what I’ve worked so hard for?! I won’t let you get away with this!!” Lago’s eyes were filled with such a vicious glare it would send chills down anyone’s spine. But Shakira just looked on calmly, even with a bit of a knowing smile playing on her lips.
“But was it really your hard work, Lago? You never had the capability to start this company in the first place,” Shakira said, her words carrying a deeper meaning. But Lago was too blinded by anger to even notice the implication.
The janitor looked anxious and was terrified of the furious Lago. “N–no, miss, uh, I mean, boss?” The janitor stood in front of Shakira, nervously fumbling with his hands, unsure of what to do. “Boss, are you seriously asking me to manage the
company? I haven’t learned anything about this. I really can’t.”
Shakira’s smile widened, her voice gentle. “That’s even better.”
“What?” Shakira’s tone seemed like she was being entrusted with a big responsibility, but what she actually said was, “Work hard. This is a great opportunity for you. Work so hard that you end up closing the company down.”
This time, the janitor seemed to understand, nodding with uncertainty. “I’ll do my best not to disappoint you, boss.” Shakira smiled slightly and turned to leave.
