Chapter 140
Fiona’s face paled at Walter’s harsh words. Berry, who had been timid and meek before Walter’s arrival, couldn’t help but cast a mocking glance at Fiona.
She confidently assumed that Walter was defending her. ‘Humph, she snorted in her heart, ‘everyone including Kyle just stood by and watched Fiona scoffing at me. If they had spoken a word for me, the bitch wouldn’t have bullied me that way!‘
Anger and spite flickered in Berry’s eyes. Besides there was an increasing desire for Walter. She thought disdainfully, ‘Just wait–when Mr. Lopez becomes my boyfriend, I’ll definitely have these high–and–mighty heirs who did nothing today have a taste of their own medicine!‘
Silence reigned in the room, nobody daring to make a noise for fear of getting involved. Suddenly, a rumbling sound of someone’s stomach broke the tension. Shakira blinked and asked innocently, “So when can we eat?”
Walter’s lips twitched slightly as he scolded, “I saw Levi give you a sandwich before we left.”
Shakira showed him an expression of disapproval and retorted, I need nourishment to grow. That sandwich was so small and has been digested!”
Walter darted her a meaningful look and whispered in a low voice that only the two of them could hear, “You’ve eaten so much food, but seems some part on your body hasn’t grown at all.”
‘Where is he looking?!‘ Shakira gritted her teeth in annoyance. She wanted to talk back but failed to find any weakness of his though she’d racked her brains. Therefore, she became even more unhappy.
Seeing Shakira puff up her cheeks like a little squirrel, Walter softened his face, his thin lips curving into a faint smile. The tension in the room vanished in an instant. Everyone around them was stunned, like they had just discovered a whole new world watching these two flirt openly.
Berry’s eyes were wide open, and Fiona clenched her fists tightly. They both looked at Shakira jealously, wishing they could burn her to ash with their glares. Calton was the first to react. He proposed, “Then no business talk tonight. Let’s treat it as a simple party.”
Others also echoed, “Yeah, it’s been a while since we gathered with Mr. Lopez and Mr. White last time. We can take this chance to chat and have a meal together.”
“We can discuss business anytime, but a private gathering like this is rare for us,” a man said.
Kyle then gestured the manager to start serving the dishes. When they were eating, Calton, Gavin, and some friends casually mentioned the latest gossips in their circle. Shakira enjoyed her food while listening to them curiously.
As the atmosphere grew lively, some of them proposed a toast and gulped down their wine. Smelling the sweet aroma in the air, Shakira couldn’t help but lick her bottom lip. Walter glimpsed her movement and smiled, “Want some wine?”
Shakira’s eyes lit up. Instead of an angry squirrel, she was now like an excited squirrel spotting a nut. “Can I?” asked her in an expectant voice.
With his smile brighter, Walter emptied another glass of wine and crushed her hopes. “In your dreams.”
Speechless at his childish trick, Shakira buried her head back into the plate and focused on her steak. ‘What a bad man!‘ she thought while poking her steak hard with her fork.
After a few glasses of wine, Calton’s face turned reddish though he hadn’t got drunk. He took a thoughtful glance at Berry, who had been secretly watching Walter and Shakira, and suddenly suggested, “It’s so dull just eating and drinking.”
Immediately knowing Calton’s intention, Gavin smiled without stopping him. Calton chuckled and said, “We rarely have such a change to get together like today, how about we play a game? Mr. Lopez, you haven’t played with us for long. This

Walter shot him a glance and asked, “What game?”
Calton gave a mysterious smile and went out to find the manager. After a while, he came back with flying chess and complained, “Kyle, your restaurant is really dull. It took me much time to find something to play. Sorry, everyone, we’ll have to make do with this tonight.”
Kyle leaned back in his chair and raised his exquisite and handsome face, retorting, “It’s a restaurant, not an amusement park.”
Calton sighed, “What a pity. I’ll bring something to play next time I come.”
Gavin chimed in, “Cut the crap. Tell us the rules of the game.”
Calton thought for a moment and said, “We’ve got many people here, so let’s pair up, one person moving chess and the other taking punishment.”
His eyes ran down the room before he continued, “The team losing a piece to another will face a truth or dare challenge. The team first reaching the finish line is the winner and can punish all the members of the other three teams.”
“Got it.” Gavin nodded and looked around, directly deciding upon his teammate. “I’ll team up with Kyle. Flying chess seems simple, but it also requires skills. I need a smart teammate.”
Fiona couldn’t wait to cut in, “Then Walter and I…”
Walter interrupted her without hesitation, “Shakira will be my teammate.”
Shakira curved her eyes happily, thinking, ‘I like games. Maybe I can have a couple of drinks in the game. Perfect!‘
Fiona instantly gave a sulky face. Fortunately Ryan Moore, who sat beside her and was on good terms with her invited her to be his teammate and saved her face. Calton looked around and said, “Then Berry, we’re a team.”
Surprised she could join, Berry looked at Calton gratefully. As the game started, the four teams began rolling dice. They needed to roll a six before they could move their chess. The other three all failed. When Shakira took her turn, she twirled the dice and rolled the first six.
Gavin noticed her finger movement and commented with a meaningful smile, “Ms. Nelson, you’re really experienced.”
Shakira put on an innocent expression and said, “I watched some tutorials online. I didn’t think it would actually work. Just lucky, I guess.”
As if to confirm her words, she rolled a two on the second try. Two rounds later, Kyle and Fiona both successfully rolled a six and set off. Only Calton and Berry’s chess was still at the starting point.
In the forth round, Shakira and Walter’s piece happened to move to Calton and Berry’s place. Berry could do nothing but watch Calton’s movement nervously. Calton glanced at her and casually spun the dice–a four.
Berry let out a sigh with disappointed. She couldn’t help complaining in her heart, ‘Calton a playboy. How could he be so bad at rolling dice?”
Different from Calton’s poor luck, Shakira and Walter were in perfect sync and quickly “captured” Fiona’s piece. Fiona -looked innocently at Walter and begged in a soft voice, “I choose dare. Walter, you won’t really have heart to punish me,
right?”
Walter ignored her pitiful look and said, “Eat a spoonful of wasabi and take three shots of liquor.”
Fiona’s face paled at once, yet Calton and the other friends just egged her on as if not noticing her expression. Furiously, Fiona, refusing Ryan’s kindness to take the punishment for her, threw a spoonful of wasabi into her mouth and gulped down
