There was a sudden hint of fragrance on his lips, along with the cool, soft touch of a woman’s fingertips. Walter was momentarily taken aback and couldn’t react for a moment. 

Shakira handed it closer to him, pressing it against the corner of his lips. “I washed my hands thoroughly. Have a try. It’s really delicious. I’m not lying,” she said. Walter’s eyes lingered on her slightly blushing face, and against his better judgment, he opened his mouth. 

The meat, tender and filled with spices, was a taste unlike anything he’d experienced before, Shakira gazed at him with bright eyes. “So, how is it? Is it good?” 

Even when eating crawfish, Walter kept his elegance, chewing slowly before finally giving his opinion. “It’s okay.” Shakira pouted, “Just okay? Come on, it’s really tasty! I even went easy on the spiciness because I thought you might not be used to 

it.” 

Back then, she made spicy crawfish for some old folks, and she didn’t use instant soup powder at that time. Even so, they liked the food and kept praising her! Therefore, she thought Walter was just being stubborn. 

Walter raised an eyebrow. “I said I don’t eat it.” Shakira retorted, “I knew you’d be stubborn.” As she spoke, she swiftly removed the shell of another one and swiftly held it out to his mouth. “Here you go.” 

Walter opened his mouth, planning to tell her to eat it herself. But before he could say anything, Shakira went ahead and put it right into his mouth. 

Walter was unguarded. He had no choice but to obediently chew and swallow. The taste was definitely different from what he imagined. After a couple of bites, he wanted to eat more. 

Walter’s eyebrows twitched slightly as he carefully watched Shakira remove the shell. He rolled up his shirt sleeves and picked one up, too. Shakira finally took a bite and saw him begin to remove the shell himself. “Hey, wait, you’re not used to this. Be careful not to hurt yourself…” 

This time, it was her turn to have a crawfish stuffed into her mouth. She had to admit that food tasted better when someone else fed her! 

Walter casually picked up another one. “Isn’t that how it’s done?” Seeing Walter’s skillful moves, Shakira couldn’t help but give him a thumbs–up. “You’re amazing. Your learning ability is exceptional.” 

That compliment was spot–on, right? Walter scoffed slightly. His hands didn’t stop. He continued to feed her like how she did before.

She thought, “That’s ridiculous!‘ Shakira had been fed several times and didn’t want to be outdone. So, she hastened her actions. Whenever Walter fed her, she would return the favor and feed him as well. 

Just like that, the two of them kept serving each other, and in no time, they finished off three pounds of crawfish, not leaving

Shakira hadn’t expected that Walter would be confused even over such a simple matter. Yet, she then found that, strangely enough, this made him appear endearingly cute. 

Shakira ate her pasta with delight, a smile constantly on her face Walter observed her happy expression. Her cheeks were a rosy hue, and her entire being seemed to radiate. He found himself utterly mesmerized. 

“Hey, why are you staring at me? Go ahead and eat!” Upon hearing that, Walter snapped out of his daze. He turned his gaze away, maintaining a cool, indifferent demeanor. Only he was aware of how uncontrollably fast his heart was pounding in his chest. 

After they finished eating, Shakira tidied up the kitchen and cleaned the desk. By the time she took a break, it was nearly four o’clock. Coming out of the bathroom, she noticed that Walter, who usually went to bed by ten, was still sitting at the desk. She had no idea what he was working on. 

She looked it up online and said, “It seems like the sunrise will be quite early today, around 5:30 a.m.” With that, she opened her compass app and found the direction of the sunrise. 

“The hot water seems to have run out last night. How about you just rest for a bit, and I’ll wake you up when the sun rises?” Shakira said. Walter frowned slightly; he was very particular about cleanliness. “Forget it. We’ll head back in the morning, and I’ll sleep then.”
