Seeing that Shakira looked emotionless and silent, Felix thought she must dislike him so she did not want to glance at him. Felix stepped forward. He was a brilliant and rich student so he was always admired by everyone else. Now he respectfully bowed before Shakira. 

He slightly clamped his lips together, sounding a little bit nervous. Felix said, “Dr. Lonely Bird, I want to work for you just because I want to learn from you. If you really think I’m annoying, I’ll make sure you won’t see my face very often.” 

His words sounded familiar, making Shakira want to laugh. She thought, ‘I have to admit that Mitchell and Felix are alike. They knew she found them annoying yet insisted on staying around her. 

Shakira gave a cold smile. “As far as I know, Dr. Nelson specializes in medical research, which isn’t part of traditional medicine that I specialize in.” 

Felix quickly explained, “After returning to this country, I’ve shifted my focus to traditional medicine. I joined this show to learn more about traditional medicine.” 

“Really?” Shakira said meaningfully, “I thought he came here because Ms. Nelson invited you disappoint her.”

She quickly caught up with Felix and followed him to the emergency stairs. 

Yvette, out of breath, couldn’t hold back her anger. “Felix!” 

She rushed to Felix. “Are you going to leave me alone here? Why? You promised me you’d help me on the show…” 

Felix interrupted her. “I did promise you but now I have things that I want to do for myself. 

Yvette thought, Things you want to do?‘ 

Yvette was incredulous. “So you decided to work as an assistant for Lonely Bird? Felix, are you joking?” 

Felix said coldly, “I’m serious. I’m really sorry that I failed to keep my promise. Tell me whatever you want as compensation. I’ll try my best.” 

Then he walked past her and left. 

Yvette stood motionless in shock as disbelief and anger overwhelmed her. 

Yvette thought, ‘Whatever I want? 

‘How could this really compare to me winning over the audience in my variety show debut and becoming famous overnight?‘ 

Rebecca made some marketing strategies especially for them using Felix’s impressive achievements in medicine. She was sure they would definitely be the most interesting and talked–about duo. 

Now with no more obstacles, everything seemed to be going perfectly according to their plan. But Felix suddenly decided to quit. 

Yvette thought, “These selfish and hateful people! They always say they care about me but when I needed them most, they betrayed me and left me!. 

‘I was stupid when I helped him play up to Lonely Bird. Felix, you ungrateful and heartless jerk!‘ 

Yvette was about to explode with anger and her eyes quickly turned red. 

She asked her assistant to ask for a day off from Kevin. Then she drove straight back to the Nelson residence. 

With the New Year approaching, Rebecca, the leader of the Nelson family, was preparing decorations for it with a group of women, praying for a happy and prosperous year ahead. 

The courtyard was lively. Suddenly, rapid footsteps interrupted their conversation. 

Rebecca turned around and was slightly surprised. “Yvette? You’re back home so early! Aren’t you supposed to be filming until very late?”
