Chapter 254
The words were full of mockery and sarcasm. Shakira looked back and was surprised when she saw who it was. Then she slightly frowned. It was Aaron. She knew him.
In her previous life, everyone in the Nelson family worked hard to convince her to agree to a kidney transplant, using all sorts of tricks.
Jayden even gave up the assignments he was supposed to complete and rushed back to Crescentville to join her for morning exercises, saying it was to help her get stronger for a smoother recovery after surgery.
However, after the surgery, Jayden only stayed by Yvette’s side and never visited her again. The only time he did come was almost two months later. Her condition hadn’t improved, and she was still bedridden.
Jayden, who was usually quiet and reserved, kicked open her door in anger, stormed in with red eyes, and directly accused her of causing someone’s death.
He said. “If you hadn’t kept hesitating about the surgery, I wouldn’t have abandoned my assignment, and Aaron and the others wouldn’t have been dead!”
Shakira was shocked and at a loss. “What? I don’t know…”
Jayden said, “Yes! You don’t know anything. All you do is pretend to be miserable to win our sympathy, just to satisfy your absurd vanity, which has resulted in the loss of innocent lives!”
Each word from Jayden was like a heavy stone crashing onto her making her feel suffocated. Yvette, who had recovered. rushed into the room with the family, held his arm, and pleaded for Shakira with tears.
Yvette said, “Jayden, just blame me. If I hadn’t fallen ill, Shakira wouldn’t have been forced to make such a hard decision, and inexperienced Aaron wouldn’t have become the temporary leader. I’m the one to blame!”
Mitchell supported the frail woman who was about to collapse with distress, completely ignoring the pale and breathless Shakira.
He said, “Yvette, don’t say that. All the problems started with Shakira. If she had agreed to the kidney transplant sooner, none of this chaos would have happened!”
Even Yosef, the righteous prosecutor, also said, “No matter what. Shakira indirectly caused the accident for Jayden’s team.”
Shakira was accused by everyone. She was even too weak to get out of bed, but she suddenly became a murderer. Jayden even dragged her to Aaron’s memorial and forced her to bow to that black–and–white photo.
After tossing her back at the Nelson residence, Jayden told her to behave herself. How ridiculous.
Jayden accused Shakira of being fake and not agreeing to the surgery sooner, but he didn’t know that Yvette was pretending to be sick to steal Shakira’s fortune and kill her.
If anyone was to blame for Aaron’s demise, it was definitely the greedy and shameless Yvette.
But now, Aaron not only was still alive but also showed up right in front of Shakira, looking confident after completing his task, with Berry that flunky following behind.
Shakira thought, ‘Looks like this idiot has been incited to deliberately cause trouble for me. She didn’t need to think much to understand what was going on.
The saleswoman was surprised. After realizing what Aaron was talking about, her gaze at Shakira and Xanthe became complicated.

Xanthe was not someone easily to be messed with. She was already angry after her wallet was stolen, and now seeing Berry who was watching the scene, she got even angrier.
Xanthe said, “Bullshit! This small amount of money isn’t even enough for me to spend a day in La Vido. What I buy is none of your business!”
Aaron said. “Humph. I can brag as well. I could also say I lost billions in a casino in one day. We’re in a modern society.
“No one would be a pickpocket in a big mall nowadays. That’s a high–risk, low–reward job that no thief would take on.”
Aaron insisted that they deliberately claimed to be stolen to dodge payment. His loud accusation caught the attention of other customers in the store, who began whispering among themselves.
Xanthe’s face flushed with anger. Before she could retort, Aaron handed a bank card to the saleswoman and pointed to an item in the display. “That tie clip, please.”
Aaron had been in the store for less than two minutes and had already decided to buy something. The saleswoman’s eyes lit up, and she respectfully took his card to finalize the purchase.
She then put the items Xanthe had been interested in back in the display. Her smile faded and her gaze became dismissive and contemptuous.
She said. “Misses, you’d go look for your stuff. Any longer and your phones and wallets might just come back on their own.”
Berry was enjoying the scene and then burst into laughter. “Hahaha!”
Seeing their smug expressions, Xanthe, who had never suffered something like this before, was nearly fuming. Shakira’s expression also turned completely cold.
She was considering whether to call the hotel staff for help when the sharp–eyed hotel manager, who was patrolling outside, spotted Shakira. He quickly rushed in with a flattering smile.
