After being provoked by Shakira carlier, Selena looked at Yvette feeling even more satisfied. 

She thought. In the end, the kid raised in our family is more reliable indeed. What Mr. Bethune said must refer to Yvette, not that disrespectful bastard outside. 

Selena held Yvette’s hand tightly as they took their seats. “Everyone, raise your glasses to our family’s hero, Jayden, and his loyal teammate, Aaron. Congratulations on their victorious return, Cody announced loudly. 

Everyone stood up and clinked their glasses. Aaron seemed especially radiant, while Jayden also showed a rare smile. 

The family was having a good time. When they were chatting, the earlier incident with the bracelet came up again, but they were no longer as shocked as before. 

They all believed that Jayden’s safe return was thanks to Yvette’s good fortune. Jayden kept his calm demeanor and didn’t offer any contradiction. 

Aaron, in high spirits, had a couple of drinks and raised his eyebrow playfully at Yvette. It was a secret only they knew. 

Yvette responded with a sweet smile, “It was due to Jayden’s and haron’s skills and perfect teamwork that the mission was a success. I just shared in their glory.” 

Her words were modest yet appropriate, making not only the Nelson family but also Aaron feel quite happy. They spent years in the military and were training all the time, so they had no time to date. 

When Jayden first joined the team, Yvette had paid him a visit. At first glance, Aaron was attracted to this delicate little princess. Driven by a natural male instinct, he felt that a girl like Yvette needed protection. 

Now, hearing her call his name with admiration and praise for his skills, Aaron felt that his heart was about to melt. Just as he was basking in this flattery, his phone rang. 

Seeing the caller ID, Aaron smiled and said to Jayden, “Jayden, it’s the instructor. Is it possible that the results of our commendations have been announced?” 

He answered the phone with a bright smile. He even turned on the speakerphone to let everyone hear the good news. He said, “Sir, is there good news for us? Can I finally get that third–class merit this time?” 

However, the instructor’s angry voice burst through the speakerphone, “Humph, Aaron, you’re really over the moon, aren’t you? How could you abet theft right after completing a mission? Listen, forget about the third–class merit. 

“Due to your disgraceful behavior, we’ve decided to dismiss you. Your captain Jayden will also have his award revoked due to negligence!” 

Everyone present was shocked. Aaron sobered up instantly, and his smile disappeared at once. “W–What?” His words stopped abruptly as if he suddenly realized something. Then his face turned pale. 

Jayden grabbed the phone from the stunned Aaron’s hand and said, “Sir, Aaron and I have been together the whole time. There must be some kind of misunderstanding.” 

Aaron got fired, and even Jayden was implicated and lost his credit, so Selena got anxious. She quickly spoke, “Sir, I’m Jayden’s grandmother. 

“The two kids have been with us the entire time. They definitely didn’t steal anything. This must be a false accusation!” 

The instructor responded with a cold sneer, “Misunderstanding: False accusation? You idiot! The girl already sent the surveillance video to the military. It clearly showed how Aaron instructed two known thieves to steal from her.

“The thieves have already been taken to the police station along with the evidence and witnesses. Are you still going to quibble? You’ve made me the laughingstock! Jayden, you’re a captain. How dare you question me? 

“Can’t manage your team and now you’re upset about losing your credit? Do you want to go to the police station and embarrass yourself even more?” 

Jayden pursed his lips and said, “No, sir.” The instructor continued to scold them. He thought. How could those who are supposed to serve the people and know the law break it by doing that kind of shit? They’ve also ruined my reputation 

I was supposed to receive an award after returning to the country. Now, that’s all ruined because of this mess! How could this happen during the New Year? Damn it!” 

After the instructor hung up. Aaron, who had clenched his fists in anger, got up and stormed out. Jayden quickly stopped him. “Aaron, what are you going to do?” 

He turned Aaron around and then finally saw Aaron’s red eyes. Aaron said, “Shakira, she’s the one who got me fired. I have to make her pay!” 

The Nelson family’s expressions all changed at once when they heard that name. Selena asked in shock, “Shakira? What does this have to do with that bitch?” 

Felix got right to the point, “So, was it Shakira who handed all the evidence to the police?” 

Jayden suddenly understood something and his expression turned cold at once. “Aaron, didn’t I tell you not to act rashly?” 

Aaron was extremely frustrated and then quickly explained the situation. “She bullied Yvette and her friend! I just couldn’t stand it. Besides, it was just meant to be a small lesson to stop her from being so arrogant. 

“I didn’t even do anything serious to her and even returned the stuff. I didn’t expect her to be so vicious and even lay hands on me!” 

Berry quickly vouched for him, “Everything Aaron said is true. I was there too. Shakira didn’t lose anything at all. The manager and store owner even fired the saleswoman just to please her. 

“I can’t believe she is so vicious. She didn’t suffer any loss but still harmed Aaron.”
