Walter’s kiss was aggressive and overwhelming, and even though Shakira had been forced into “practice” inany times, she couldn’t resist. 

In the end, she was like a kitten with its neck held, meekly and softly nestled in Walter’s arms. 

After a moment to catch her breath, Shakira, feeling dizzy, still tried to struggle and reach for the silver needles. Walter glanced over, his eyebrows lifting. “Want more?” 

Shakira puffed out her cheeks in anger. “Do you still want acupuncture or 

not?” 

Walter didn’t say a word, his heated gaze rested on her. She understood that if she dared to get up, he was ready to kiss her back down. 

Shakira pouted and couldn’t help but poke his chest with her finger. “Are you disappointed in me too?” 

‘After all this time, there hasn’t been any progress with his legs… Is he thinking of giving up?‘ thought Shakira. 

Walter’s eyes flickered slightly. “No.” His large hand wrapped around her palm, gently tightening. “Are you not tired today? I don’t want you to overwork.”

In his arms, Shakira quickly found a comfortable position and dozed off. Walter listened to her gradually deepening breaths but his expression slowly tightened. 

Berry, fuming over the increasingly bizarre rumors of wealthy families circulating online, had a restless night. The momen Walter posted on Instagram, she realized that the homemade doughnuts were crafted by that spiteful Shakira. 

However, witnessing the clueless netizens fawning over Shakira and even associating her with the Four Elders made Berry burn with jealousy. 

Berry thought, ‘Does Shakira think she is worthy of being compared to the Four Elders? Just because she played a piano piece for them once, does she think she’s made connections with them? It’s shameless!‘ 

Berry brought some fruit to the hospital to visit Yvette and casually told her about the whole situation. To her surprise, Yvette just laughed it off, completely unfazed.

“Shakira is just using Mr. Lopez as an excuse to shamelessly cozy up to the four elders and the rich kids. They’re only respecting her because of Mr. Lopez,” Yvette sneered. “Without Walter, who would even pay attention to her?”

Berry’s head snapped up. “Yvette, I knew you’d have an idea.” 

“Aren’t you about to start your internship? It’s going to be so long. You and Mr. Lopez are on such good terms. Why not ask him for a favor and see if he can get you transferred to Lopez Group?” Yvette suggested. 

Hope gradually disappeared from Berry’s face. “How could I convince Mr. Lopez? I haven’t seen him in a long time…” Since that encounter on the plane over Silverwave Bay, Walter hadn’t spoken to her at all” 

Berry’s heart was pounding with anxiety. She thought, ‘Did I finally get a chance to get close to Walter only to end up achieving nothing? How could I possibly accept that?‘ 

Yvette chuckled, “If Mr. Lopez doesn’t want to see you, you can just go and find him yourself.”

Yvette advised, “You got an internship with that small company that’s linked to Lopez Group, right? If they know about your relationship with Mr. Lopez, they’ll definitely make sure you meet him.

With Yvette’s gentle whisper, the confusion in Berry’s eyes gradually cleared. She smiled brightly, “Yvette, you’re so smart!” 

Yvette curled the corners of her mouth and let out a soft chuckle. 

Berry’s internship began in just a couple of days. As soon as she left the hospital, she eagerly hurried to the company. It was situated in an old building downtown, occupying just two floors. The company had fewer than five hundred employees in total. 

Actually, its size wasn’t that bad. But after seeing the imposing skyscrapers of Lopez Group in the CBD, she was not impressed by this rundown place at all.
